I tried giving it to the local shelter. They said it was unsafe to feed to dogs 😲. That's what scared me. I'll try it on the blackstone.

This is way off subject but…
I agree that raw pork is bad for humans and canines.
I agree that pork in the form of bacon and ham is not good for dogs, nor should you feed spiced and cooked pork to dogs. Spices are generally not good for dogs.

But take plain raw pork and cook it and it is fine for dogs to eat. So the processed dog foods with pork as the meat are fine for dogs to eat.

But there are better meats to feed dogs than pork.

If we’re going to go off-topic…then I’ll share what we feed our loving rescue Heeler, Callie:

5 lb bag of chicken quarters ($5 at the grocery, intended for humans, has zero hormones, etc.)
Place the chicken in large pot with 6 qts of water, cover and bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2hrs. (this makes it simple to use tongs to pull the bones out as they are ready to fall-apart anyway.)

Bring de-boned chicken to boil once-again, toss in two large diced (1/2” or smaller cubes) yams (for fiber), Simmer additional 30 mins.

Toss 1 lb of frozen soup vegetables into simmering pot. (peas, carrots, string-bean mixture)). Simmer addt’l 20-30 mins.

Turn heat off, and mix in 2-3 cups of oatmeal (such as Quaker Oats, found in round-box, This absorbs excess water.).

Leave pot covered and let cool until you can scoop an appropriate amount into zip-lock qt. sandwich bags and place in refrigerator.

This SALT & Seasoning-FREE DIET makes twenty, 1-1/2-cup servings, which we feed our 25 lb two-year old twice daily. Your dog‘s size and habits may vary..

For us, this amounts to 10-days of human-quality food our dog loves and our vet approves. It’s completely healthy REAL FOOD and not that unknown “by-products” stuff they sell that gives your dog cancer.

Total cost for ten-days food = $10, including zip-lok bags. This is likely 1/4 what ”dog food” costs.

I wonder what Callie is thinking…. (she’s been patiently sitting with that ball in her mouth about ten mins waiting to see if I notice. When she sees me taker her pic….she moves much closer …hoping… hoping…. hope-hope-hoping….). LOL

You were the one interjecting yourself into friendly banter between 2 members which didn't involve you, chastising me with your cut and paste, suggesting I needed education on what pastry, pasty and pasties are.
If you choose to have banter between 2 members only you should use PM. Then it is private and you get no response. If you post on a public forum expect responses.
