pork and excess salt are Both Bad for dogsI tried giving it to the local shelter. They said it was unsafe to feed to dogs. That's what scared me. I'll try it on the blackstone.

This is way off subject but…
I agree that raw pork is bad for humans and canines.
I agree that pork in the form of bacon and ham is not good for dogs, nor should you feed spiced and cooked pork to dogs. Spices are generally not good for dogs.
But take plain raw pork and cook it and it is fine for dogs to eat. So the processed dog foods with pork as the meat are fine for dogs to eat.
But there are better meats to feed dogs than pork.
