The Blackstone is not put together, griddle is seasoned an today was smokin day. I bought a steelhead filet at Costco, made my rub and put it in the fridge yesterday to marinate over night. I'm using Applewood pellets. Smoked at 200* for around four hours and made sure the internal temp was above 145*. I really love Applewood for smoking fish as it is mild, and sweet smoke goes really good with fish. Anyway, Done!.jpg !st smoke.jpg the Steelhead turned out

Wow that's a setup right there. Been a blackstone user for several years now. Love em. Mines been down a few weeks, bad regulator that i keep forgetting to pick up.

If they come out with a 36" version of that I may have to give it a go. Cooking for 5 always got a little tight on the 28".

Good job on that fish, looks perfect.

Well BBFarmer there is a slight difference between the standard 28" and the 28'XL.

Comparison between the Blackstone 28 and the 28XL cooktops1245:

  • The 28XL has three burners instead of two.
  • The cooking surface is slightly larger in the 28XL.
  • The 28XL has a deeper depth (21½ inches) compared to the standard 28 (18¼ inches).
  • The 28XL has 584 square inches of cooking space, while the standard 28 has less space.
  • The 28XL has 25,500 BTUs, compared to the standard 28's 12,500 BTUs.

Thanks. Yes, this rig is nothing like my old one. The old one was much lighter, and you could collapse it for storage or for RV camping. This one, once built is where you put it. Don't collapse and weighs 380#.
The steelhead did turn out great

That does look cool.

What's the lower compartment on the left?

Is that an oven, warmer, smoker?

The in laws done swooped in and took our youngins for the weekend. Figured I swing into town and get my ears lowered.

Then treat the mrs to a taco/ margarita luncheon. I have a weakness for birra tacos. Other than the FIL taking us out a few weeks back, i think this is the second time I've been out to eat this year. Such a sheltered life LOL

My problem is the berries never make it in the container or back to the house
You see, I can't eat berries like that. Any of em. I'm a chocoholic. And those things draw my face up and my body instantly rejects them lol.

Gotta bake em into something.

Never had one with blueberries, that sounds really good. We used to do the strawberry rhubarb pies every spring. A couple years ago we had a very wet spring and my 25 rhubarb plants died 😬.

She saw the BB/Rhubarb option in our Betty Crocker cookbook.

First try for us as well.

Was very good! Great combination I might prefer over strawberries….🤔

Sucks losing your rhubarb. We don’t have any plants, but have some generous donors.

This year has been a challenge for growing anything but weeds…..🥺🌧
