What size tiller can a B8200 run?

I just purchased a B8200 HST 4wd tractor. Most tillers require more PTO hp than the tractor can provide. So what tillers are actual B8200 owners running?

The B8200HST are not really a good match for a tiller, too wide a stance, to little HP.
Even the smallest 36" is at the edge of what the tractor will be able to power.

You are 16 PTO hp at best (probably slightly less since you are HST).

Using rule of thumb 4-5 hp per foot of tiller (for best results) then a 36"-40" tiller makes the most sense.

When it comes to tillers, much depends on the intended usage and soil conditions.

Maybe on it's best day at joesmith's place
Does one have to till hydraulic oil into sand? Seems a beach rake would be sufficient to "level your realm?"

I would *think* Kubota probably geared the recommended 40" tiller for the tractor PTO, but do not have any experience with putting a tiller on a Kubota, I just happened to know where to look for the information. With that said, having tilled with a Simplicity tractor and tiller, a walk-behind tiller, and a hand-held tiller, I wouldn't go and till hard sod with it at a 6" depth setting, I'd probably remove all but one tine on each side next to the gearbox and carefully and slowly and carefully (???) break up the ground. Once the sod is loose then maybe put 2 tines spaced out on each side, still go slow, and keep working to pulverize the ground (sand, in Joe's case). With my limited tiller experience it seems the statements above, namely "it depends on the ground," are accurate.

providing the soil has already been plowed or chewed up somehow a 36-40" should be fine.
I ran a 36" tiller behind a FORD LGTR125 for 8 seasons. mid '70s tractor, Kohler 12 HP, burned a lot of oil but always did a fine job. If your tractor width is more ,not a problem, you need pathways to access the veggies anyways !

Anyone using a King Kutter 4' tiller?
I have a four foot 'Ag-Meier' which is built almost identically to a King Kutter (pro model).

King Kutter 4' Pro Model:

My Tractor is only 20 PTO hp, but it will run the tiller just fine in dry, virgin sandy loam with native grass to penetrate.

This is video (recent) of a single pass with the tiller depth set to about 3.5"
