What does this lever do?

My 30+ year old B7100HST has it it's a cool feature for long runs.
The only problem on the old models is the clutch or moving the handle was the only way to stop it, scared me the first time I went too stop and the HST pedal didn't do a dang thing except speed up! :eek:

That is scary !!! Guess I will try it out then see if I can get used to it....

Tried this cruise control lever out today........works great.Not sure how much I will use it as the tractor will be used mostly in the yard but nice to know I have it if I need it.Thanks again to you guys for helping me figure it out.:D

OK first post here,just bought my 2002 L3710 and decided to join up.Getting aquainted with my new toy and have it figured out......mostly!There is a small lever under the steering column on the left side with an orange handle.What does this lever activate? Thanks in advance for your responses!
