Wow very cool man! My uncle has a little farm in the train platform that he built
Thanks. HO Scale model railroading is what got me interested in dioramas. I discovered that I enjoyed building the structures and scenery more than running the trains. The main attraction is that it's never finished - there's always more little details and mini-scenes than can be added.

I have a few RC Cars. One of them is a brushless electric that given the right battery could touch 50 or so. Then 2, 2 stroke nitro ones, the smaller of these is good for about 65 mph and can run a couple of hours on a tank, the larger and older one is a 4wd monster truck from the late 90s/early 00s. I am planning on adding some more cars to this and hoping to expand the collection to some planes, quads, and helis if possible, but unfortunately house needs come first so the stable is probably as full as it will be for at least the next couple years. Ideal goal is to get a visor, transmitter, and camera and be able to drive/fly them FPV and maybe get a couple race quadcopters to crash.

Also "playing" golf, and being out on the lake/river are both good wastes of time too.
I’m big into Rc cars as well. Mostly crawlers though. And monster trucks

NICE collection of RC stuff, Richard. I've looked into it and I bet it's a blast, but my "toy budget" just won't stretch that far.

It’s fun for sure. I find Most of my joy from building them honestly. But it’s an expensive hobby for sure

Been thinking about this question.

Concluded that while I seem to collect tools, and actually use most of them, the main thing I seem to be collecting is:

Chores that need to be done!

I can't be the only one, right? LOL

In the Winter, I work on my 1:64 scale farm diorama, and...

scratch build 1:64 ag models of stuff I can't find commercially.

and brass toys in 1:16 for my shelf models.
Paul - - - that stuff is astounding!

It reminds me of days gone by.

Guessing that is your attraction to those also?

Obviously a couple AC D-1x's. So neat....

Your combines reminded of the days sitting in a wooden seat on the combine with a burlap bag combining oats. I was 6 or 7....maybe.

The combine was mostly wood-clad as I recall. It would fill the bag, and I'd tie it off and send down a slide to the side.

It was always so hot an dusty, but I had to do it.

I would have volunteered to go into the hay mow, but unfortunately oats were after most haying was done.

I had the benefit of double-duty....

Exactly, RCW. I grew up on a small (120 acres) farm in the 50's and 60's. Several of the structures and equipment are as close as I can come to our old home place.

The Allis Chalmers All Crop combine is what Dad had and it still had the bagging platform and slide altho we didn't use it by the time I came along.

The house is VERY similar to the one I grew up in.

This corn crib/tool shed was actually modeled from pictures from the old farm. We never had a mounted corn picker tho. I was always envious of the neighbors that had them, thought they were just the coolest thing!

The combine shed is also modeled after an actual building on our farm, altho I took some liberties with the signs on the siding. Also, Dad never owned an Allis Chalmers tractor. We were all Farmall and John Deere.

because, you, are not from New Jersey. :ROFLMAO:

Thanks so much!

That made me laugh big time, and I needed that!(y)(y)

As you know, I'm a former farm boy.

You can take the boy outta the farm, but you can't take the farm outta the boy.

Farmers don't travel much or well. I'm the Poster Child for it, even though it was many years ago.

I've been in taxi's in both NYC and Mexico. Been to Disney (once-never again), Long Island (once-never again), Midtown Manhattan in NYC (once - never again).

A daughter kid lives in Old City Philly, another in Santa Cruz, California. Been both places.

The funny thing is whenever I go to places like that, people will say "you ain't from around here, are you???"

I obviously stick out like a sore thumb, a fish out of water.

Couple weeks ago was Boss's Day. My staff got me me a mug with some of my favorite sayings. That was on the list.

Paul - - that is so awesome. It does remind me of our places. We had 180 acres, and my grandparents had 200 acres a mile away, plus another 132 acres 20 miles away.

My parents and grandparents were together in the dairy. We had dry stock and heifers at our place, and milked at theirs. We milked ~ 70 or so.

Spent at lot of time on that old 'Moline going between the two farms. Did it everyday.

Thanks for the pics. They really do remind me of the old days.....

The home place. Our house is the upper, my grandparents lived across the road, tho they passed before I was old enough to really remember them.
