It wasn't hot enough for us yesterday so decided to warm things up.
Where I live it is not allowed to burn branches from the garden any more. But it is allowed to have an open fire to prepare food. So having a sausage on a stick ready is of advantage in case somebody comes checking. 🤣

Working on the MX5100 at work. We have a laser grader that is hooked to the rear remote, I have the lever held back with a cable and spring, janky I know… was told to make it work. Well the return pipe sprang a leak due to fertilizer and not washing afterwards. Anyway, tore into it to repair today. Even had a helper.

Filled turf tire is a bit heavy.
IMG_7140.jpeg

Rusted pipe broke when I was wiggling and pulling on remote block.
IMG_7142.jpeg

Probably need to buy a lottery ticket.
IMG_7144.jpeg

All back together and no leaks!

Going to tackle adding the loader block and running lines to the rear tomorrow.

Why all the corrosion? Is that from fertilizer or something?

I like your workaround.. We have to have a permit from fire warden. Specifies conditions and time ( 5pm to 5am only.), Must call dispatch each time prior to burn for permission and so they don't send fire crew if a neighbor sees smoke. Can burn during rain or if ground is snow covered. Also sign a statement of responsibility/liability..
I like,your method better.

L5030 has 2086, here are some pictures of it, it has already had the floor pan/fenders replaced about 5 years ago.

It’s still a good tractor, just abused the first few years. Our fertilizer guy now is pretty good about washing everything really well.

The other day when I moved several yards of top soil, I sort of made a road to my back yard but you're gonna have that when you make 20 trips back and forth with a heavy tractor. It's not a big deal but there's one spot and I tried to pick the shortest, safest and least damaging route to where I am spreading the soil out.

Anyways there is one little dip I have to go through and now it's essentially a pond haha. I'm assuming with the weight of the tractor I have compacted the soil so much so that the water isn't draining through the soil as fast as it used to.

What's a good way to fix this or just let nature take care of it? I really should dig this spot up some and grade it some but I need to use my stock pile of top soil for other important projects later and this isn't a high priority but man it stinks lol. I thought about aerating it some with my metal rake, it's really all I have.

Replied to a local FB ad to snag some "free" dirt not far from me.

Free dirt 1.JPG

Started hauling at 5 pm (must have been close to 100 degrees). After the 4th load I started smelling brake pads. Didn't think much about it since I just replaced them last year all the way around on the truck.

Then I started to see smoke. FK! I got 7 (heavy) loads total (I should've started with the "good" dirt first) before I limped home.

So, my question to you all is...is FREE DIRT really free? lol

Mowed 6 acres and cleaned the deck. Lots of clover this time of year and it sticks to the bottom of the FDR2584 well. I love the clover smell though.

Side note. Can someone tell me if these are R14's or some type of R4?
