I ran out to the farm to drop some stuff off and found my dad and nephews there. Next thing I know, we were in the middle of moving 15 tons of rock we had delivered. We spread geotextile paper down in a hope of keeping all the rock from disappearing. We figured out that to come close to all the projects we want to complete, it is going to take at least 45 tons.

Still working on getting the outside of the dump trailer painted. The last mechanical thing we have to complete on the dump trailer is to pack the bearings and then it will be ready for us to haul out own rock.

I finished making the M6060 pintle drawbar yesterday afternoon. I double up two pieces of 6"x6"x1/2" plate for pintle mounting, drilled four 1/2" holes and drilled/tapped two 1/2-13 threaded holes either side of the bar. There isn't enough clearance for nuts on the back side of the plate either side of the drawbar. This design allows for four mounting heights of the pintle. This is a stout drawbar but the M6060 needs it.

I also finished modifying the brush guard and weight bracket. The front weight bracket is bolted to the brush guard and ready to install on the front of the M6060 this morning. I'll need to use the MX to lift it into place. It is heavy, and virtually impossible to install as two separate pieces without a lot of messing around and probably some help. The 5/8" spacer will allow me to get the suitcase weights on the mounting bracket with the brush guard in place. That's something I couldn't do before and explains why photos of the M6060 with the front weights on show the tractor without the brush guard. I still intend to weld up custom brush guards for both tractors, but I can do most of that with the bottom half of the brush guard and front weight bracket on the tractor i.e. I don't intend to ever take it off again! 😂

I had some Kubota orange paint can issues yesterday. I'm a fan of the Kubota paint but there's something up with the nozzles on this batch. Frustrating given that the paint is $21 a can.

I've moved the discing job to tomorrow so that I don't have to rush this morning. I was tired yesterday afternoon/evening and started making stupid mistakes such as bolting the weight bracket on upside down. Time to slow down.

nerwin, i`m not trying to be the internet safety police, or ruin your day my friend, but PLEASE learn how to SAFELY SECURE those straps correctly before you get hurt. That video was hard to watch. I was waiting for that strap to fly off like a rubberband and hit you. I`ve seen people use unsafe practices like this many times in my life, the end result wasn`t pretty. Safety First! It could save your life, or someone else`s.

Haha, I wasn't worried about these straps. I pulled a lot more heavy things with them. But appreciate the advice. Unfortunately it's all I had on hand at the time so I took the risk. But I won't be doing it again, I need to get some proper straps. At the end of the day I got what I wanted done. Don't plan on doing anything like this again anyways, too much work.

N.Y,
Hard rain all day so ran th HF to grab a cheap compactor. I'm slow so renting one would have cost the same. I decided to take a chance with 3 different projects lined up. Luckily the RTV is the same height as my truck so was able to slide it right on the RTV and bring it down to my shop to prep. Hopefully it works. I have been watching craigslist for years for one but most were totally beat or overpriced. Can't use the 2 hand tampers I have anymore with the muscle problems from long covid I was diagnosed with.

I got the brush guard and front weight bracket installed this morning with the help of the MX and some chains. There's plenty of clearance between the loader and weight bracket, but obviously you can't have weights and the loader on the tractor at the same time ... but why would anyone want to do that anyway!

I removed the loader, got 8 of 10 weights on the tractor, removed the PITA PTO cover, greased a bunch of components, filled up the windshield washer fluid reservoir, blew a ton of dust out of the air filter, radiator, condenser, oil cooler etc., and finally got the disc hooked up. I'll be loading up the trailer in the morning and heading to the discing job after I've topped off the M6060 fuel tank.

I added one more feature to the pintle drawbar. I've wanted to add rear tie down points on both tractors for more than a few years, and today I took a step in that direction. A bit of flat bar welded to the drawbar (as a stop), and a large D-ring will do the trick. The D-ring slips over the drawbar and is free to rotate as needed.

All in all a productive but tiring few days. Sitting in the tractor for a few hours tomorrow will be a cake walk compared to all of the cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, lifting, welding, painting and wrench turning I've been doing over the past few days.

L4701 HST with 433 hrs. The fuel got low (gauge at E line) and as I was headed back for a refuel an error P0093 popped up. I refueled and the error has not gone out.
I changed the filter in the fuel separator and the fuel filter, today hoping to clear the error. The fuel in the separator had trash at the bottom of the bowl and the filter was fairly dirty. The fuel in the filter was clear and NO particles. Replaced both with new, but the error message had not cleared. The tractor is parked on a concrete floor there is no fuel leak.

It started down pouring so I decided to clean the tractor..put some wax on it. Cleaned the suet off the loader (I'm bored ok). I learned from Messicks it's not recommended to use regular grease as it attracts dirt and debris in the 3 point so I cleaned out the grease and used lubed it with multipurpose spray lube, I'll get some dry lube for the balls but should be fine for now. Found a squeak that's been annoying me in the 3 point linkages, fixed that now it's quiet! Haha. It was just the stabilizers.

I even cleaned the rims and the tires. The tractor looks brand new again haha.

I need to sand down the flat face of the quick attach..it's so rough. I'm not the first owner of the tractor...it almost looks like the previous owner pushed stuff without an attachment on. Easy project for another time.

I want to make a "receiver" for the drawbar that slides over the drawbar to have my trailer ball attached so I can use a draw bar pin to remove it easily instead of having a trailer ball directly in the drawbar. I want to put a rugged clevis pin on the drawbar that I can use for tie down and pulling logs. I don't like the 3 point trailer attachments, don't need it honestly. I only move my trailer once in a while. So having something I can put on the drawbar quickly will be nice!

Now I wanna try out the bucket hooks 🤔

I've been happy with the one that I bought a few months back. It did throw one of the belts for some reason. Easily wrapped it back on.

I was surprised that it came with an extra set of belts, airfilter, and carburetor jets for high altitude. Hopefully the rubber isolators holding the pad last. I was thinking about trying to grind some radiuses on the plate long sides so it doesn't catch when turning.

That hitch looks great.

Maybe I missed it but looks like you maybe a hiding a big red machine, no?

Love seeing the tractors stretching before heading to the field. 😉

Can anyone recommend good quality 5/16" G70 chains? Looking to get some to use for the bucket and for logging. Amazon has 8 billion chains that are probably junk, I don't want junk.

I bought 4 of the Harbor Freight 20 ft g70 chains years ago and haven't been able to break them yet. Left one 20 ft, made one 2- 10 footers, another 4 -5 footers, and the last 3 - 6 1/2 footers. They usually have big sales on them. Nice having an assortment of lengths. I have no idea if they are really certified though.

‘US Cargo Control’ has USA made chains etc. if that matters. I’ve had good luck with them as a place to buy and not had problems with anything I have bought from them. I’d recommend make sure of the SWLL of whatever / wherever you buy (straps should have a label/placard and chain hooks and clevis should be marked etc) not every other country / manufacturer has same rules and standards in what gets imported here…buyer beware IMO. ☕

I can't believe, but I got that big ol' stump out!!!!

It took me a week worth of digging with a shovel, swinging an axe and using a wrecking bar. The tractor couldn't lift it very well but once I removed most the dirt from the stump I was able to move and lift it a little with the bucket. I never dug out a stump this big before
strong work!!

My b2620 has not been washed in waaayyy too long. We had some epic pollen this year and the tractor lives in a covered shed with no walls. Add in dirt from regular use and the first big mowing of the year and it was time.

I had bought a foam cannon previously for washing the Transit so I gave it a whirl on the tractor.

And here is the after. I used hot water via a garden hose. I think I could get better results if I pre-treated the greasy residue at the joints and did some scrubbing/brushing at the worse spots.
