Only because you can see the bucket…..my Kubota helped hook the generator up YET AGAIN due to a power outage.

Only forecast to be out 3 hours this time…..

We went years without a generator. Didn’t need one. Now it’s a regular occurrence. Were out 2-3 hours just a few weeks ago.

This is our second iteration. Third would be a standby system.

During heating season, I usually start the genny pretty quick so I don’t have to monkey around with the pellet stove, which is our primary heat source.

Supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow...... ❄ ❄

Some of my drive has fabric in it but not the main part. I thought about doing it myself but its expensive. I just rather grade it a few times a year. Its fun that way too. haha

I have his "sister"
She goes by the name "Sadie"
Yes, she does look like my Dakota for sure. :)

I got myself another one on Friday. Same flavor but a slightly different color.

I got really tired of doing that...and the road that I live on is "Swamp Road". So, with a finished basement, I needed something that would relieve the stress I felt when the power went out...

That lead to:

which lead to (after the party tent people decided it'd be great to put a tent stake thru my gas line )

that lead to this: (I dug it with the backhoe, but the plumbing company that I dug for wanted to shoot some pics for their advertisements). lol

Today I did a little maintenance on the tractor, greased all the fittings, checked the tire pressures and did a general walk around. Everything was good...did had to add some air to one of the front tires and the one in the rear but only a little.

I decided to do a little bit of work before the rain came this afternoon and boy it did...poured just minutes after parking the tractor back in the garage! I think I timed it just right, at least I got majoirty of what I wanted to do.

Made a quick video of removing a stump/tree. I know it's nothing special and a home depot lawn mower could probably pull it out (ok maybe not) But it was the first time for me pushing over a stump with the tractor and honestly it was quite satisfying. If I had a grapple, I probably could've just ripped it out maybe.

Later I did dig out another stump and it was much bigger. But I didn't record it...wasn't planning on it just was in the area and wanted to test the waters to see what it would do on a much bigger stump. This one was probably 8 inches in diameter and a foot or more toward the bottom. It really didn't have any issues pushing it over. I did dig around it a little with the bucket and pushed on it from different angles and once I did that it popped right out. It's too big for the bucket and way too heavy for me to move so I need to the pallet forks on but at this point it was starting to sprinkle and I wanted to let the ground dry more because it was starting to get a little muddy.

PXL_20250415_175347462.jpg

This is an area I been wanting to clean up for sooo many years and it feels great that I'm finally doing it. I need to get rid of these trees, one of them a few years ago fell on my shed. My goal is to clean up this area a little and hopefully make it a spot where I can put the tractor implements and get them off my front lawn. Was thinking to build a little shelter for them too.

PXL_20250415_175337305.jpg

I feel more confident with the tractor but I am still really sketched out on any sort of inclines. I just prefer to be on level ground haha. It really weird when you're on the tractor and you feel like its gonna tip over but when you get off and look and it's like maybe 3 percent grade and I seen these tractors on quite a significant grade. I guess it's going to take time to get used to it. Anyways it was a good day, got a lot done and I feel like I am getting the hang of grading with the bucket, I was really surprised how well I was able to level all that out.

As you can see there's a little gully there, that's where the drainage that runs from the house and garage...some of the gutters are connected to it and doubles as a french drain as well. So it needs to remain there but I'm going to extend where it exits out and then I can fill some of it back in.

nerwin, it's neat to see you learning your tractor. Have you figured out the float function on your loader yet?
Super helpful for back dragging gravel and dirt with your bucket.

Yes I use float sometimes. But I also like putting pressure down to pack in better. It's really wet soil so float just pretty much goes right over it not letting me do what I want.

That looks super. (y)

I think I remember you posting these pictures before. Wish I had access to natural gas, but not an option.

My lot is quite restricted due to slopes.

Wish I had a good place to set a good-sized propane tank to accomplish what you did for emergency power.

Weren't you thinking about a piranha edge? Pushing on stumps like that is a good way to put a smile on your bucket, and a frown on you. You can also get bolt-on edges.

It wasn't too hard on it, wasn't a big stump and it was in really soft soil. Its not something I'd do often anyways but yeah I'd like to get a bolt on edge soon.

I did the ride of shame last night. Tractor quit in the middle of a muddy horse pasture. I heard a little pop and the tractor shut off immediately. No crank no start. Juggled the usual safety switches and pedal. Nothing. I did have lights and the glow plug light on dash would illuminate.

Couldn't mess with it too long since it was starting to get dark, threatening rain, didn't want to lay in mud/horse crap and the damn horses were trying to eat my Kubota. Then I noticed I still had my phone on the magnetic holder on the ROPS with a horse eyeing it up for dinner. I saved the phone.

Property owner has a Bobcat UTV. I pulled the tractor out of the pasture with the Bobcat, property owner (woman) was on my tractor to steer. Towed it to my house, played with some more switches a bit then popped the cover on the fuse box. I found that the 5 amp OPC fuse had blown.

The fuse box was really cruddy, loaded with dust and debris so I blew it out and replaced the fuse. Good to go now.

Edit, I did notice that the property owner had her phone out while she was steering my dead Kubota. I'm thinking she was taking pictures or capturing it on video. I hope that it doesn't show up on social media somewhere...but, I bet it will. :(

It'll probably be on the Bobcat forum!! Showing how her machine dragged the broke down Kubota out of the mud, and declare how they always break down under use. ;)

Is the fuse box on your B near your right foot? Covered by the screen under the dash for cold air intake to the radiator?

My BX fuse box is next to my right foot, under the dash covered by the screen for the air intake and battery. A couple/few years ago, had some reason to get into it.

Damn thing was chocked full of dust. Amazing how much dirt came out of it....

Gotten so I blow it out whenever I'm near it...been a while, so it's probably due for another blast.... ;)

Cleaned up a butternut tree that was a casualty of all the rain and high winds we had earlier this spring.
I hacked off the exposed roots on the sunny side and was able to stand the trunk back up to chop thru the remainder. It was about all the BX wanted when I came time to move it to the burn pile.
Regards,

I think that this guy takes the cake on how to remove brush... the video is a real eye opener

I'm sure some of you have seen it but it's worth a refresher in case you forgot.

Looks like a video of me making trails for my youngins a few years ago. VIOLENT

I had similar moves with my 3301.

Except when he was about to get smacked with the brush and reversed, I'd duck down into the steering wheel and give her the FULL BEANS!!!! LOL

Never dented, dinged, or hurt the tractor in any way shape or form in years of being rough in the woods.

Yet I managed to F the hood on my 3560 first week of ownership.

Moved some dirt with the LX3310 and my 1949 W4 MacCormick Deering with dump trailer. The Kubota had double duty supplying the hydraulics to dump the trailer.

That trailer is awesome! In Kubota orange too!

The red tractor is also amazing, but bloody Canadians .... always wanting to add an A to everything! 😂 I don't think you have a big enough muffler on that McCormick.
