What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

For those who have the Standard L series with the R4s with loaded rears, what do you set your tire pressures at? The manual says what the front should be but when it comes to loaded rears it's sorta confusing.

15psi rear. Full rated sidewall front. YMMV.

I been looking at the bxpanded piranha tooth bar and while I like it and the idea of it. Watched many videos on it I use the bucket as a general purpose tool sometimes carrying things and I know the shape edges would definitely be an issue and the $400 price tag is hard to swallow. But I really like how easy it seems to tear up saplings, especially poplar that grow like crazy.

I might try to just dig some up and see what happens with the straight edge.

i wouldnt do it.

i use my bucket as a gp tool like you do last thing i need is a hospital run from knocking into those teeth by accident or really tearing up something that shouldnt.

ive clonked my head o the bucket a few times with it in the air greasing the fel or accessing the engine bay and would not want to run into a giant saw blade on the front.

if your bucket is a one tasker and all you do with it is break ground... maybe

I'm on the flip side of the post above. The only time I have removed the Piranha bar is for snow removal. Otherwise it has been on.

I am plagued with field olives or autumn olives. The piranha does a great job catching the trunks and ripping them out by the roots. It stays on year round and I added some edge tamers for snow removal.

It's worthwhile for digging, and for knocking down brush and small saplings.
Its nicest feature, to me, is that it goes on/comes off with just two bolts. Only takes a minute.

I might work on my driveway tomorrow if I'm feeling adventurous. Still haven't got the box blade yet. But there's a spot that's that's like 3 inches deep of water and it's retaining so much water. I'm not sure what I can do besides ripping the whole section out down to gravel and then spread the topcoat more evenly.

Put my turf tires back on today along with changing gear box oil in my mower deck. When I get that mounted, will be ready for mowing season.

Poured 13.2 66 lbs bags of cement into the ballast.

There was about 75 lbs of metal in it before pouring cement. So, looking at close to 950 lbs of ballast (about half of the BH92 weight).

I have two buckets that both have bolt on edges on them all year round. The MX bucket has an Everything Attachments toothbar and the M6060 has the Kubota factory bolt on straight edge.

Yesterday while using the M6060 I noticed that the hydraulic shuttle lever felt a little "off". Upon closer inspection I noticed that the two bolts indicated by the arrows in the photo below were very loose. This morning I removed them, cleaned the threads, applied blue Loctite, reinstalled them and tightened them. The shuttle lever feels a whole lot better now.

I had to remove the plastic clam shell trim pieces from the steering column to get to the bolts but it was easy enough.

I was going to remove the grapple this afternoon and put the bucket on now that I have the loader back on the M6060. But then I remembered that I was going to make a kick stand for the Everything Attachments grapple so that I don't need to use a block of wood to support it when it's off the loader.

I raided my scrap pile and cobbled together a kick stand of sorts. I just need to weld the short section of rectangular tubing to the grapple, add some black paint and it should be good to go. The part of the stand that's pinned inside the rectangular tube has two pieces of c-channel welded into a rectangular tube which fits really nicely inside the larger tube.

The kick stand won't stay on the grapple when it's in use but it could. I opted to use a pin to hold it place when it's needed. I'll post a follow up photo or two once the kick stand is on the grapple, and the grapple is off the tractor.

Weather finally allowed for some work to be completed at the farm. Finished the first mowing of the season.

Then turned the attention towards the recently acquired dump trailer. We are by no means automotive restore experts. Realistically, we are just putting some makeup on a pig and trying to slow down any rusting.

Here is a picture after we had finished most of the front (ended up breaking out another can and finishing the front before we left, just couldn't leave it not complete).

We went over and knocked off a bunch of the flacking paint and rust. Painted it with a Rust-oleum primer/paint combo that is supposed to help stop the rusting. This was just one coat. We hope over the next few weeks to try to tackle a side each weekend weather permitting. Then go over everything with a second coat and put the DOT reflective tape back on it.

It won't win any beauty contest, but hopefully we will be able to slow any rusting and have many years of good use out of it.

Pulled out and cleaned off in about 2 hours. I could have used a pressure washing myself!

Saturday morning was a trip to the back forty where much attention was needed. Had to cut from here up to our front field by the road. Not too bad, couple hours worth.

That includes cutting the somewhat pretty steep pond dam. I keep the loader and bucket on when I'm back here just to keep a little more weight down low. Youngin getting the stihl ready so he can cut the pond side of the dam.

It aint too bad, my 3301 always walked up and down it with no problems. The 3560 does the same, only way more comfortably with that sweet a/c.

After that, had to go in and get ready for about a 6 hour run in the kitchen. So didn't get to hit the road frontage until after dinner.

I finished up the grapple kick stand this morning with some welding, priming and painting. It came out better than I expected with very little in the way of planning or measurements. Sometimes you get lucky. The one thing I did think about was using a piece of pipe for the foot since it doesn't matter how the foot is oriented to the ground, there will always be line contact.

Removing the grapple was a cinch, and it seems to be very stable as shown. Another project crossed off the list.
