Just a little landscape bed refresh/prep for spring. Repeat customer so, how could I say no.

Got to do it old school with the B and the backhoe.

Cleanup..2 loads of stone/dirt hauled off. For some reason, I did a lot more hand shoveling than I used to. I know it would have been easier with the mini, but the tractor was getting lonely.

Just had 4 yards of 3/4 marble chips delivered. Got to drop a half dozen buckets around the property. The previous owner has it all around the house but some areas are down to the fabric beneath. Should get a good bit done tomorrow.

Well, maybe it ain't as big as it was, but there's still a lotta ouchy in that big glowing pile. That's gonna be hot for days. Keep an eye on it.
For sure! I was out a couple of times to spread the coals around.

Popped a bead on front right tire. LX2610.

Previously...

In the morning I noticed that the tire was low. Aired it up to spec.

Used the forks on the loader for a few minutes and then noticed the tire bead was off of the rim. Ah shoot.
Cleaned up the wheel rim and tire bead front and back side with soapy water and used the ratchet strap method and a soft hammer to seat it. Put air in and it's good to go.

Some little things turn into bigger things unless you catch them.

Be Well. Tractor on.

Beautiful day here…58 and sunny. May not have many more nice days like this left before sap season. So I used the little orange monster and forks to put it on a pallet, and to bring the new evaporator out to finish the inside of it (ready to use).

Measured/cut/install the fiber insulation and then added the bricks. Finished it off with the pipe…just barely clears the door, but it clears it on the pallet so I can bring in / out as needed. This should be a big improvement over the concrete block set up I have been using. 🥃

Put down a 1/2 ton of lime, and then spent an hour hosing the tractor off and cleaning the drop spreader. This morning after the tractor dried, I could see a few spots that I had missed. I shouldn't have put the pressure washer away so early, but it is too heavy for me to carry down to the cellar, so I have to take the help when I can get it. Next is to straighten out the covered car port to make room for a car and the tractor.

I used the spare 10A Work Light circuit wiring that was taped up near the top link of the tractor when bought new.
Would you post pictures of where the wiring and plug are located on yours? For the life of me I cannot find the plug on mine. I'm pretty sure I know where it should be yet cannot locate it.

Nice! Who’s the maker of the evaporator?

Awesome. I started on cinder blocks, went to a homemade 55 gallon drum arch, and not have a very similar 2x3. (Did we talk about this in the past? I’m terrible at remembering people I haven’t met in person but this is ringing a bell.)

I think you’ll be very happy!
Thanks. (Yes we have had some previous seasonal sap discussions and maybe a topic on your general area…I have in-laws just west of you 🥃).

I added a blower motor with this new set up as well. Ive been using a leaf blower w/ seedling evaporator (17x22) in conjunction with my cinder blocks.

Excellent! I love the blower on mine. I look forward to seeing some photos of your operation when the sap’s running. I’ll share some too!
