Yesterday I got my weight box installed on the tractor and it was already prefilled with "silver bars" There are over 650 lead ingots in there and each weighs approximately 1 1/4 lbs. or approximately 730 pounds of weight plus the weight of the ballast box itself. This gives me enough traction to both snowblow and plow all winter with turf tires.

Last night, everything is ready for the first snowstorm of the season. On the side of the tractor is my snow plow for cleanup after I blow off the majority of the snow, the snowblower (BX2816 that is looking for a new home) that I used before I got the BX2822, and the snowblower V5265 that I purchased this summer hoping to find an RTV to use it on.

Good........because I am guessing that the trusty groundhog will be forecasting extra weeks of Winter in NH.
There will also be one extra day in February!

P.S. Don't forget to leave the hood UP, while stored.
Mice just love to chew wiring, and make a home in dark places.
Leaving the hood up helps to deny them that cozy hiding spot.

D-con or similar, ....is the best option,..... if domestic animals do not have access!

Thanks for the tip... would not have thought to do that. @$#@$%& mice!! They have taken residence in my chipper, truck, cars previously. I have a variety of traps and poisons set up. I have the most success with peanut butter as bait and the old fashioned wooden spring traps. Sticky traps work best in warmer temperatures. in winter, the sticky traps harden and don't seem to be as sticky. I have an ozone generator and use chlorine dioxide tabs for removing odors. That and changing air and cabin filters as well. I've also noted that dashboard components/duct work often have a cloth or foam lining ( vibration or noise suppression?). I wind up stripping that out where I can reach it.

I typically respect all life and try to be humane. But when it comes to those destructive rodents, it's war.

Ground finally froze for a bit a week or two ago so I was able to get out and skid some logs. Managed to get a chance yesterday as well to pull some more out from a steeper part of the property (before we get too much snow for it to be inaccessible). Not is good as a winch, but it beats cutting it to length, loading on a trailer etc.. Instead I pull them to the road, cut to 80" (5x 16" lengths) then push to the side for when I have the grapple on and can move them to the woodyard.

Some people have told me that they use rubber caps on the exhaust pipes to keep the mice from building nests inside the mufflers, but I have never had that problem. The peppermint oil on cotton balls is a must in the engine compartment.

I am away for the entire Winter, every year!
A 294 year old house, and two (much newer) storage barns.

I also have a strobe light on a timer, in the old house root cellar, to discourage the #&%@*^, raccoons.
They have hit me hard twice, and they do not touch the D-con!
They also do not like radios!

I have the flu,and we got a foot of snow.
I helped our daughter get the snow blower on the tractor yesterday.
She is out doing the driveway now.
I have to just let her go at it on her own. She is super safety conscious so I don't worry about her much.
Not as good of a picture as MCMXI but I had her park it near the house.

Usually park it in the tractor shed.

Just finished clearing the 9 inches of snow that we got today. This was the primary reason to buy the cab lx. All of the other stuff I get to use it for is all a bonus in my mind!

Moved some concrete debris from other projects with the grapple to Cluckingham Palace to break up into rip-rap for critter proofing the run. Lined the inside perimeter with chunks that’ll slide into the hole if something digs in, and will do the same on the outside after I get the mesh installed.

Pity I wasn’t angry about anything because beating on concrete with a 4 pound hammer is very therapeutic. The concrete is bits I cut out earlier this year when I built a gravel parking area and put a drain under the existing driveway. So far, the only cost in this project is the sheet metal on the roof and the fasteners to assemble the whole thing. All of the lumber is from 2 deck rebuilds, Might have to call the ties purchased, but they were actually purchasedfor the parking area project, so I already had them. Used a lot of scraps I had laying around serving no other purpose besides termite food. I still have nearly 1000 bricks that I might line the coop floor with.

Couple of simple additions to the LX4020... Added a little extra weight to the box blade for more traction, . And, added an ammo box toolbox onto the slow moving vehicle bracket, .

Finally a little snow to try out the LX4020 !
I added some more rear weight for traction, it's working very well with the new R4s!
*Rough numbers- about 300lbs for box scraper, about 530lbs in suitcase weights. For just over 800lbs off the back to reduce spinning.

Finally got some snow here in NH......10-14" of nice powder which will be a mess in 36hrs as we are set to get another 2-4" of snow then 1-2" of rain tomorrow night.......

Repaired blower worked well as it should for a $700 repair on a "commercial" blower with <35hrs on it. We'll see how it holds up. I'm tracking the wear on the coupler after use, once it thaws out a bit today I will remove the cover and take a couple more pics for documentation as I treated it like a fragile egg this trip out.

Cleaned a foot of snow sitting comfortably in the BX23S with my original tractor cab and heat! I had to strip down to the t-shirt!
