What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Did this Monday, just now getting to post. Used the grapple to move 3 60" Oak logs. I normally cut them 80", but I had to back up the hill a ways to get them out. Don't think I would have made it at 80". Had the ROPS up and the seat-belt on for these three.

4" "green line" looks to be original cast iron sewer line.

Put the chains on the M and hooked on the box blade in anticipation of the predicted snowstorm tomorrow evening. I will put the plow on tomorrow after the final weather report in case it’s not needed.

One of this years projects was to refurbish my old plow. The skin was rotted out so I found a place in PA that custom makes them. I then sandblasted, reskinned and repainted everything. Today I bolted on the cutting edge and mounted it to the tractor since starting the project. We are expecting up to a foot over the weekend.

I got the loader off put it away and then installed the K connect driveshaft and snowblower. OK, I am lying, I had help putting the K connect onto the tractor and installing the driveshaft. I did put the snowblower on myself and hooked everything up even though I was feeling lousy. I still have to put the weight box on the 3-point hitch tomorrow, but that shouldn't take much effort. I used to love snow blowing and plowing, but now in my later years, I am beginning to detest it. Still, have to move some tings around in the garage to get the wife's car in there. She doesn't like cleaning snow off of her car, but I have no idea why.

Most of my implements are good quality. This rake is Chineseum all the way. My thought when I bought it was I’d be using it maybe 8 hours a year and, due to the nature of it, it’s never under massive stress, thus Chineseum was acceptable for my purposes. So far that’s worked out with no issues.

Now that I’m retired I’m spending more time in the basement/shop, it’s getting to be routinely cold out, and I hadn’t had a fire going since last winter. But I did clean the chimney in September so at least that was ready to go. Cleaned all the miscellaneous crap off the wood cart and got it out for the first run of the 2023-2024 winter season.

Loaded it up.

Back from the wood yard to the basement/shop.

Fired up the Lopi Liberty and the chill was soon gone.

That is a 1926 Gilbarco pump. I got it from a friend who took it off of a family farm back in the 1960s and at that time he painted it and put on the vinyl decal. I got it from him about 20+ years ago and just stuck it there temporarily thinking that someday I would restore it to the original, but never got around to it. It still has the original pump on the inside and it is extremely heavy. The clock face was originally glass that was broken out and replaced with a piece of clear plastic. There is also a cylinder that showed the fuel being dispensed that was also glass that was broken and replaced with plastic. I had always thought about getting glass made for it, but now I will leave that for the next caretaker to deal with. Surprisingly the original brass nozzle was with the pump, and I installed a lock on it so it wouldn't disappear. Back in the 1960s a lot of these types of items were being disposed of and I would collect them. Unfortunately, when I moved in 1973 I couldn't take them with me. This air station I couldn't leave behind. I got this from a gas station that was being torn down to make way for a new office building. The station closed in the 1950s and there were a lot of interesting old items inside. If I had only known more then I would have taken more of what was there instead of watching it go into dump trucks and off to the dump.
