Must be a record breaking day for October 28th, 80* F here in southern Maine.
Opening day of deer season. The deer would spoil before dragging it out of the woods at this temperature.
So today I changed the oil & filter & fuel filter & greased her up.
Since putting a cab on the step loop seems a little tucked under the tractor when getting out. So took some aluminum angle and expanded steel and
made made a little extension so I'd have more to step on when existing.
It's gonna tuck more. The reason it's tucked is because it bent the stirrup and platform Doesn't have to bend much to nearly disappear under the platform. Here's what I did to mine:

IMG_2616.JPG

I added a couple braces to keep the stirrup where I found it when I bought the tractor. I'm not what most would consider a heavy fella (180 lbs) but I noticed the platform twisting enough to distort the left fender when I climbed up using the stirrup. The bracecs go all the way to the frame at something of an angle which also keeps brush from dragging agains the stirrup and bending it back against the left rear tire, which as you can see is pretty close with the big feet on my LX. No more flex, and the stirrup's still in the same place it was when I took this photo nearly 2 years ago.

I made a taller rear stand-off for the snow plow lines. The previous was shorter like the front.

I like your hooks for holding the hoses up so they won't get damaged. I don't recognize the type of setup that you have mounted on the front of the tractor. Is that something that you purchased or something that you designed and installed on your own? Either way it looks interesting and more pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks. I made the hooks, and made a mount to adapt a John Deere 54" 4-way blade. Check the Fabrication Forum for more.

Wow.
That's a great idea. I think I'll add a brace in the back and see if I can push it out a little. Thanks for posting that.

I just try to eat dinner, relax, and go to sleep at night!

Now that Halloween is over with, it was time to start cleaning up the Haunted Halloween Trail displays. Fetching the autopsy table required the Kubota for some heavy lifting! Here's a couple pics from our Halloween trail that winds through the woods.

Rumor has it that on certain moonlit nights one can hear the seamstress still mending her husband's wardrobe!!

I’ve had my workshop in an 19 century (or perhaps 18th) outbuilding that’s falling apart, and my tools are starting to all get rusty. So I’m moving in to a newer shed. Tractor is making easy work of the heavy lifting! I thought I may have to take the folding outfeed table off, but the fully assembled table saw just squeezed through the door. In the new space it will be right behind a five foot wide door that’s under an overhang, which will be nice cutting bigger pieces.

Waiting for the group to load up in trailer for Halloween. Nice and warm in cab, they all had to wear winter gear and got soaked. We got a little over 3” of the white stuff in 3 hours.

Wow. No thank you.

My wife is from Michigan. We were at her uncle's funeral up in New Baltimore. Got up in the morning, and snow had covered the hotel parking lot. In MAY !!!

I told my wife that we're NEVER living here.

Trimmed some of the lower limbs on the oak trees, so deer, hogs and other critters can be seen easier from the blind. Grapple for the all the limb clean up.

I had help today from a fine young man that is a student at UW Stevens Point, wildlife ecology. We have been cleaning up a slope that runs downhill from my picnic/camping area. Today we used the grapple and landscape rake to clear enough of the slash/trash off for the wild Lupine seed to have ground contact but left enough to help with erosion control. I harvested the seed from my property this summer, which was a good thing as wild lupine seed sold on the open market for over $1000 a pound depending on the vendor and quantity! I had collected roughly a pound. Fall is a great time of year for broadcast seeding native species. Usually requires many frost/freeze cycles for germination.

I also cooked the last of my venison brats up for lunch. Great day to be out in the fresh air, improving the land and working the tractor! :)
