Used the blower and snow blade this morning in 10F temperatures to clean off a couple of inches of very dry, powdery snow from about 400 yards of driveway. The new MX6000 with cab is being delivered next week so just putting on a few more hours on the current model before it goes to a new home. It sure will be nice sitting in a cab for this sort of work.

This is an effective snow removal combination for my needs although I have to be a little more careful near the house since I have lots of things to bump into. I might remove the snow blade while I'm using the blower to make the overall setup shorter and more manageable.

I did a battery tray.
It used to sit on the controls since the previous battery tray has been lost last summer.

The BX was killing it today. Got the last 2 loads of logs piled. 2 logs I couldn’t lift. I could however curl them. So I managed to get them to the pile. I’m going to measure them to do a weight estimate before I mill them. Neighbours dog came over for a visit.

edit - first pic was taken at 1200. Second at 1430

Topped off the fuel tank, plugged in the battery tender and for the 1st time since I acquired the tractor I waxed the hood.
I finally got tired of looking at the faded look. The previous owner did woods work with it and it must have seen a lot of sun exposure.
Carnauba wax did a miraculous job on it with a 5 minute effort. I'm incented to do the whole tractor now :)

Now just waiting for snow!

Got the subframe all put together and tested for leaks, had to redo the ones on the cylinders so they would leak, saw that coming though. Plugged the battery tender in for the night too.

Do you have the sawmill up and running?
I got the engine running, swapped the plugs, oil, and filter. Ended up needing a fuel pump the 20hp Honda is way quieter than I expected. My friend who owns it is coming over tomorrow to teach me how to use it. I have figured everything out except the motor mech for the forwards-backwards drive. I can only get the mill to go forward. Goes up and down with no issues. I haven’t put a blade on it yet, that will get done tomorrow morning. Then I will level it in the yard near the pile. she grew up running it with her dad, so I’m looking forward to my first cut! My chainsaw decided to crap out on me. I’m lucky another buddy of mine owed me a favour and lent me his husky till I can get the parts for my chainsaw. Eventually I will start up a “sawmill adventures thread” lol

Not all the time but I do put a charger on usually about every month and half either the little maintainer or My 5 amp that has a automatic trickle mode. Generally I’ll just have it plugged in over night and things have been good, though when it gets close to or bellow freezing I tray to park it near a outlet. Havent been able to put it or anything else for that matter in the garage the last few years. But looking like this winter I should be able to park in side which will be nice… the car can sit out side right? Ha.

Rained off and on all day today so it was a good day for a little maintenance and catching up on odd jobs inside. Did the 250 hour service and pressure washed the tractor. Took off the loader and rear implement for servicing. Then got generally ill with the mud, dust, dirt, excess grease covering everything and washed it during a break in the rain.

It looks so naked with nothing on it. Put the loader back on after pulling it back inside and drying it off.

this was my gift to myself this year. Just put it up Before the crap weather started.

this was the original plan but lowering the rops would have to become a new muscle memory. Plus the tractor takes up less space in the garage. I didn’t put the ends on it so I can back my flat deck through it and beside my garage. Using it more like a car port than a garage.

I ran a heavy duty extension cord out from the garage, put a 4’ led shop light and have My block heater plug for the truck set up. Once the sawmill is up and running my garage will just house my tractor and ATV. So I can use it as a shop and not have to move the truck to work on stuff.

Well crap..... guess this is what I get for paying more attention to the grapple teeth picking up logs, than I did watching trailer/tractor front end....

Today I added a hydraulic top link. I have been wanting one ever since I purchased the tractor. What an outstanding addition! I played with it a little after the install and was pleased to see some immediate advantages. Just being able to tweak the angle of the Quick Hitch to more easily get attachments to lock in was the first benefit I noticed. As great as the QH is, sometime a little nudge of the tip link is beneficial to lock things together. I excited to experience the other benefits of being able to change the angle/pitch of other attachment.

Made a bracket for rotating LED while snow plowing. Put in index bolt so I can line up easy and if I hit something not to hard it will keep bracket from swiveling and striking top. Painting today.

The light is battery operated and magnetic mount. Can still fit under 8’ OH door.

Oh, and added shoes for the BH92. Got some jobs in spring on new concrete.
