Local power company wanted to take down a large oak on my property near a power line that they surveyed as hollow & rotted. For the first time in 30+ years, they coordinated the tree removal with my schedule, so that I could keep the usable fire wood. Normally, the tree crew or people in the area steal the wood before I can get my paws on it. Anyway, the tree was very rotted, full of ants, & had 5 or 6 bird nests tunneled into it. Most of the wood was too small and/or rotted to deal with, but I got some nice, dense, heavy rounds. The rings weighed in excess of 100lbs, the full rounds were probably 200+lbs.
I have no action shots, as we were in a hurry and one of my neighbors gave me 20 minutes of his time to help me load. He rolled/tilted the wood into the FEL bucket, & I loaded the trailer & hauled the waste to the local burn pit. The good stuff I hauled to my backyard to dry.
First pic has a 55gal drum in the background for scale.

Finally quit raining long enough to actually get the tractors out of the shed. Took my Bushhog off and put the hay mower on. Now if it will dry up enough to get in the field it's hay time again.

Unloaded some hay into the loft, and then took family and friends for hayride through the forest to see the fall maples. Salmon run is just starting too.

Had 90 tons (4 loads of pad dirt and 2 loads of sand) of material delivered to the property to start laying the pad for my barndominium, and for trail maintenance.

While the dump truck was milk running loads, I put together a few more obstacles for my trials motorcycling.

Fixed the feedback rod. Put the kid on the tractor and made my hunting buddies split wood.

Baled more hay. If all goes good we'll finish up for the year tomorrow.

Remember that good feeling when haying is done.

Our guys are trying to chop or pick corn. Early for picking, but I can hear my neighbor’s dryer going now....

Had 24” of rain July-September....pretty wet ‘round here. Bulldog, I know you’ve been real wet also.

Many are saying good/great crop, just have to be able to get it.....

I just had to move it out of the way so I could rotate the wife's tires, then put it back. So I just drove it around a bit. LoL

Mail some of that hay up this way... a little short here.. Rained every other day when it was time to cut, and then didn't rain for 6 weeks when 2nd cutting should have been growing. When it finally got tall enough to cut it's gone back to raining every other day. My neighbor brought me what he could. He keeps threatening to go out of the hay business :(
