Local power company wanted to take down a large oak on my property near a power line that they surveyed as hollow & rotted. For the first time in 30+ years, they coordinated the tree removal with my schedule, so that I could keep the usable fire wood. Normally, the tree crew or people in the area steal the wood before I can get my paws on it. Anyway, the tree was very rotted, full of ants, & had 5 or 6 bird nests tunneled into it. Most of the wood was too small and/or rotted to deal with, but I got some nice, dense, heavy rounds. The rings weighed in excess of 100lbs, the full rounds were probably 200+lbs.
I have no action shots, as we were in a hurry and one of my neighbors gave me 20 minutes of his time to help me load. He rolled/tilted the wood into the FEL bucket, & I loaded the trailer & hauled the waste to the local burn pit. The good stuff I hauled to my backyard to dry.
