What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I had a guy come out yesterday and drop that sketchy ash along with a nearby maple that was also damaged and another problem tree.

I then took over with the clean up. The Ego saw, the Husky 50 and the Kubota are all getting the job done.

Cutting it all into rounds and dumping them in a pile out back so I can rent a splitter and get my money's worth.

The heaviest section of the ash was cut to about 20' and I laid out some 4' logs and hooked it up tot he tractor to create a nice log roll......worked like a charm. Then gave the Husky a workout bucking that up.....

I have been impressed with the 2601 pulling out logs, hasn't even begun to struggle or break traction.

Found a power pole (or telephone pole) in the river and used the 180° BH swing to pull it onto the trail, it'll make a nice flagpole! Then got the tractor stuck , should have known better, pretty soft ground. Good learning experience, had to use the bucket and stabilizers to lift the tires off the ground and get some brush under the tires!

Had to change the fuel filters on the BX this morning. I have been working on the wood pile for next year and yesterday it started to lose and regain rpms intermittently as it was getting dark. The filter by the fuel pump was pretty dirty. The filters had about 80 hours on them. I keep a couple on hand all the time in case this happens or they freeze up. It is running great now. I think I am going to pick up a spare fuel lift pump when I replace the filters just in case.

Had a guy over to do some clearing with a forestry mulcher, I backed him up with the brush hog and moved some of the big logs that couldn’t be mulched.

Did some dethatching with my chain harrow in hopes of growing a halfway decent lawn at some point.

Awesome. It would seem appear that one can still get stuck with R-14's.

I do have just one suggestion for the next time it happens (and it will ). Next time, forget the brush, just use the hoe to push or pull you out of the jam. You won't even get your boots muddy.

Yup. It was too unpredictable for me to try on my own. My will to survive is larger than my ego......had a local young guy deal with it.....he usually specializes in tactical tree removal and is a climber......he climbed the adjacent tree that it was hung up on and took the limb off to allow it to fall more predictably. Then dropped another wounded maple that was in the way and then the ash, which was a fighter.....

I was fine with the cleanup afterwards as I want the wood, but glad I had him out and he made some coin which helps a local guy pay his bills.

I just saw that......heck of a leaner. That will be an interesting one. Then again, how many a really "text book"....they all offer some level of challenge and danger.

Cleaning up around the yard and driveway area with the forks and loader on today, then switching to the front snowblower in prep for tonight's through Tuesday night's snow storm coming. 10-12 inches wet snow expected! Need the moisture badly here so quite happy about it actually.

Doing a full service on the new to me bx2200 at 562 hours.

New oil and filter, both fuel filters, air filter, hydraulic oil filter too..

Spent about 300 at messicks, bought Tuesday night and the parts were delivered to South Florida this afternoon

Got new anti scalp wheels for the 54 inch mower, new mower belt, new blades, few spare spindle bearings and one of the anti scalp arms as it was bent.. will be ordering new anti scalp wheel bolts as a few have groves in them tonight..

Also got a new alternator belt..

Going to grease everything underneath and try to adjust the trettle peddle as it likes to creep forward and does not always return or is slow to..

Did the oi change today the rest will have to wait till tomorrow..

Will be useing the l2501 to do the mower deck work.

Well it's leaking.. was mowing and smelled gear oil.. going to pull it apart tomorrow and see what's bad.. hopefully just the seal and no gear case issues.. that stuff is $$$

Picked up a 2 axis rear blade off craigslist for $300. 60” should be about right for my needs.

What setting hole for your shoes did you have your tiller set at random?
I was thinking one could set them for the deepest setting and use the 3-point to adjust the depth. Although it's prolly easier to just drop and go.

Lowest setting on the tiller, and just let it go as deep as it wanted. Kept it REALLY slow.

Thanks for the information random. It's been raining here for days and more to come as well as chilly temps....so it will be a while until I can fire mine up. I'm so looking forward to playing with the new equipment. My heavy soil needs a good tilling for sure.

I have REALLY nice loamy soil, so it wasn't too hard to till. If yours is really heavy you might want to try a first pass at half depth first. Of course, no way to tell for sure until you try.
