Today was the dreaded time for a battery in the Kubota. These batteries cost way too much but with cold weather coming on there is no way I want to have a no start on a bad freezing day. I bumped up the crank amps too. It should do very well for a few years now.

So you put a "what?" in a "what?"

My little orange tractor is an L175. The battery was an 06 year 24 series DL and it had 600 CCA. It did well I guess as it lasted 6 years.

The batt I installed was a 34 series with 940 CCA. It won't be working hard at all to keep the tractor well supplied so it should last longer too; guess we shall see. :)

Well, unfortunatly I had to put the doors back on the cab. Getting a little cool and quite windy these days. Then I spread a little gravel and smoothed out the driveway and parking area at home before going to work

Did a little bush hogging and spread some rock on one of my roads; too muddy to do much else, maybe tomorrow.

It was a beautiful day here in Colorado, but we had a little snow last week. It was a good incentive to start getting firewood in. I spent yesterday cutting dead fir, spruce, and lodgepole pine (the three most common wood species where I live). Today, I used the Kubota to bring the wood in for splitting. I've attached a couple of pictures. Fall here is a glorious time of year, whether it is crisp or warm.

Just for laughs, I also included a picture of a visitor we had a year or so ago.

Well,I went out and tried out my post hole digger. Dug twenty holes about 2 foot deep with a 12" auger. I had to enlarge them by hand some to 16" and some to 18". I 'll finish them tomorrow. It didn't go to bad I don't reckon for my first adventure with a post hole digger.

Like others, I serviced my tractor today. New changed the engine oil, filter, fuel filter, and hydraulic filter, and checked the steering box. Then, I did some driveway work with the back blade.
