Yesterday I picked up my 7’ 9 shank Fred Cain cultivator (all purpose plow) at the FedEx freight depot. Today I attached my forks and unloaded it with my tractor. This implement that I bought through EA is awesome; very heavy construction. I’m looking forward to seeing how it rips up the ground in my field garden.

Planted 5lbs of red taters today. I just place the taters in a row then run down row using my " Hiller " to cover. Also 2 long rows of onions, Texas Sweet & Super Sweet.

Will be back out at farm tomorrow & will take pic. It's just a 3 pt tool bar with 2 discs that throw dirt to make a mound of dirt.

Sounds good. I'm looking for ideas and trying to get something built by May. Too much money for the commercial options for something that will only get used 15-20 minutes a year.

Love to know how much you feel these help out. Please send out update when you get back out there. Thinking of widening on my L series.
Not moved any logs yet, just some loader work on uneven land. It's a very noticeable difference, Jim. Money well spent in my book.

I used to love fridays but if there is going to be a nor-easter every friday I may have to rethink that. Last week we lost many trees some very large spruce uprooted in the front yard. Not much snow. Tonight will remedy that I think. I went to check the oil and the hood will not clear the front guard I loosened the front guard but could not get the hood to clear. Then I remembered the tech who dropped off the tractor was on the left side and pulled a lever. Duh It is funny that lever is not in the manual. Noticed the first scratches on the hood from moving the tree that fell across the driveway. Three hours in that did not take long. but now it is broke in.

You apparently have the kit installed that moves the guard towards the hood. Some don't like the excessive distance between the guard and the hood, so Kubota came up with that kit.

I did a compromise by replacing the 14mm guard bolts with slightly smaller 1/2" bolts, then held the guard towards the hood when I tightened them. That still allowed the hood to open while reducing the distance. It also doesn't require going around the tractor to do two things.

I should have mentioned the discs can be replaced with various cultivators & I made a plow point to run behind discs to make the furrow for seeds/plants

Excellent! That's the view I was looking for. Hoping my welder has time to put one together for me.

My snowblower automation project was finished today :) The Blizzard B64 that I picked up last year came with a manual chute rotation crank and manual deflector control.
A short while ago I finished the chute rotation. It only took one storm to convince me that the deflector needed remote control.

It was a fun conversion. All in I have < $300 in everything.

I made 2 short videos showing the completed project

A walk around the finished conversion

Demo from the operation station

Part of the prep for the impending 12” snow prediction from the beginning of the week that has morphed, as always, into a “wintry mix” that’s probably going to be a bunch of freezing rain was getting in a load of firewood as I had about 15 pieces left in the house.

Wife picked up an old 3000lb platform truck off Craigslist for $20 a few years ago. The phenolic tires on the steel wheels were coming apart so it didn’t roll well. Scraped the tires off and it rolls great on its steel wheels.

Pre-Kubota used to get loads of wood from the wood lot in my pickup which resulted in moving it twice; once loading, once unloading. A set of forks on the Kubota slides neatly in the space between the platform bed and wheel support frame. It already had reinforced stake pockets on the open end so it was easy to make a drop in tailgate out of a couple pieces of Schedule 40 black iron pipe and some plywood scraps. When not on the tractor, the forks stay on the platform truck as they take up nominal space there and the platform truck/woodcart is then SSQA compatible.

Now I only load once and, with the woodpile mobile, it makes it less obtrusive in the shop area.

Thank you lynnmor I guess there was a line item on the that said tilt hood guard kit.

Finally got the led light pods and beacon installed. Pods are currently wired to the rear ignition switched aux circuit (will add a dedicated switch in the spring). Beacon uses the 12v outlet on the right side of the operator's station. I also added a deflector to the plow blade. Like @NCL4701, we were supposed to get a bunch of snow and it's now fizzled to ~3" with some additional ice.

I sold my small JD cut and implements. I used the MX to load the implements on the buyer’s trailer.
