Moved this 4x4 5/16th plate of steel I got for free...brought it in the shop to measure it to get 3 inch c channel cut to fit for legs and cross bracing.. will make a great welding/ work table.. have some sold 5 inch iron casters to put under it I've had laying around for years..
That would also make a nice rock skid.

Productive day today! Got a big tree stump dug out. It’s too heaving to pick up with my 23s, but at least it’s free from its roots. Dug a pit in the backyard and filled it with Old concrete then used the extra dirt to start building up some of the yard by my fire pit. Planning on at least 40-60 tons of fill and 20-40tons of top soil this year. Also got the second last pile of brush into the pit however couldn’t burn it because my permit expired yesterday. I forgot to renew it.

The only thing good about digging a stump up......is finishing up. Congratulations !!!
Well I figure it wasn’t considered pulled until it was out of the hole. That stump is more than this loader is related to lift. RV antifreeze filled tires and the backhoe on, I was able to lift enough weight off the ground to drag it out. Again the little BX23S impresses me yet again.

First mowing of the season. Went to the back pasture and started mowing back there.

Had to work on moving brush and need to spend more time cleaning, but only had so much time today.

20210403_093755.jpg

I have to bring the chainsaw and pole saw out to cut down some of the brush/trees.

It was good day and accomplished a lot of clean up. Still lots more to go, but we are making headway.

When I wasn't busy servicing breaking my L3301, I hooked up the new grader blade and assembled the new rake:

Finish the welding table, used the l2501 to flip it over on its wheel and bring it in the shop.. its really heavy, has to be in 4x4 to move on gravel or the rears spin.. with no 3 point weight on it

Looked at a stump but frost is still coming out all round where the tractor is sitting. Getting itchy to fire it up though.

Quick work and Good Job! You gonna add a vice and anvil?
Spent about 4 hours today making sure all the 3 inch c channel was square, tacked the cross beam on the legs, stood them up got it all squared and level, tacked um on, then did the same with the 2 other cross beams and melted them together... its level!

Looking on ebay and locally for a nice big American vice, I havea old 4 inch wilton bullet vise on my other table but would like a 6 inch.. dont think I need a anvil but if I find one for less then 10 a pound I may buy it.. they are crazy expensive

A foot section of railroad rail makes a satisfactory anvil. You may need to find your friend that works for CN or whatever rail line that serves you.

I put on this seat cover I got from Amazon. No instructions, took about 5 minutes to figure out.

Built new garden beds with the Mrs:

Using the “lasagna method”: layer of compost, layer of top soil, and a thin layer of compost on top. Then weed mat, then mulch over the walking paths. Built half-dozen of them. More to do yet.

FEL was a godsend moving all this material and digging up the topsoil from the old garden location.

+1.7 hours on the meter — I nearly doubled its total time 😱. Guess I better start shopping for a new one before I wear this one out..

🤣

Yesterday I planted 10 roses and hydrangeas in the fenced in area of the backyard utilizing the post hole digger. Today I discovered that rabbits aren't just cute bunnies. The little B#$%D dug up 2 rose bushes and ate one of the Hydrangeas. I hope he chokes.
Just came back from Home Depot with some 18" high fence that I put around the plantings. Of course they didn't have enough in stock so Couldn't 'close' the fence completely. Guess we will find out how smart the rabbit is.
On another note, yesterday I also finished my big plantings at the top of the driveway - 8 Katsura and 8 boxwoods. I now have an appreciation for how much I dislike deer now. I took a look at what is left of my old plants. What the deer didn't kill they maimed pretty good :(

Getting ready to finish the basement, so why carry the 3 bike racks all the way around the garage right?

Then went and picked up the buckets of sand/salt from the driveway to ensure we will have an April Ice-pocalypse.

Figured I would drop a few buckets of loam where my wife asked for them as well.

All that went so easily and the weather so good, might as well grade the 500' driveway........beer time by 2pm....

I love this little rig.....
