To finish the driveway paving out to the road I wanted the block pallets closer to where I was paving. We had placed the pallets originally at the edge of the driveway a bit further down.

But despite getting help of my new neighbour, a young farmer and the strongest guy I ever met in my life, we were not able to move them with a pallet truck, despite the moderate slope. A pallet weighs about 1.4 tons (metric).

So I got my Kubota out, some padding at the blocks and the little machine pushed the pallets up the driveway with fairly little effort. :giggle:

I dug an oak tree stump out of the ground that I had cut down about 5 years ago. She was a big one but being dead for 5 years made the battle a bit easier.

I took care of a blow down ash. Total root ball rotted.

Then for the grand finally for the day, I unearthed those yellow jacket heathens who decided to make a ground nest in one of my main property thoroughfares. I couldn't believe the sheer numbers of their aerial assault team. I used the cabbed U27 for the assault. After opening their cave of pain, they got sprayed down with brakekleen (it really wasn't very effective since it was the new "environmentally friendly" variety)

Next up was some old cans of hornet killer. That knocked some down but ran thru thee cans of the stuff wiping out my supply. What to use next?

Finally, I mixed up 2 gallons of water and dawn dish soap in my weed sprayer and hunted them down. I should've snagged a picture since it was quite comical. Just picture a long sprayer wand sticking out of the cab between the door and the frame. Towels sealing the gap and the massacre begins. I felt like a kid again playing in a tank or bearcat decimating the enemy. Attack....retreat...and attack again. This went on for about an hour and a half.

Then I ran them down with the tracks of the "Tank". Music blaring and a very wide smile on my face (Apocalypse Now).

I got the best of them and didn't get stung (yet).

I cut my friend's 12 acres or so this afternoon. He had another friend get some hay off the field this year, two cuts I think, but he wanted it topped in preparation for winter. Quite a bit of alfalfa in the field so the deer won't be too happy about my work, but I enjoyed it.

I need to remember that the folding cutter doesn't like 540E. The tractor and cutter run great in standard 540 mode.

Brother y'all have got some of the most unbelievable scenery up there. Down here all we got is flat land and tall trees.

Everywhere I go i'm ALWAYS surrounded by massive trees and can't see far off for nothin' LOL!

Wake up in the morning, walk outside to take a nice big ole breath of air that is thicker than bricks, and then take in the lovely sight of TREES haha

Nothing wrong with trees :)

There are not so many in Ireland, well there were but our lovely neighbours to the east cut them all down to build their ships. Everything here is grass, grass, grass, everywhere you look is grass, so I planted 2500 trees. :giggle:

They grow like mad, a 15 year old pine tree was 44cm diameter (17 inches) at the bottom when a storm blew it down.

Changed the blades on the mower deck today. Put the tractor front end on ramps and crawled under for the change. Awkward! Shoulda bit the bullet and just removed the deck. Anyway, done deal for now. I'll change them again when I remove the deck for the winter.

Ramps? We don't need no stinking ramps. That's what the FEL is for! ;)

It was rainy yesterday afternoon so I was looking for a geezer putter project. I ended up making a suitcase weight rack. Just a simple little thing. When I take the loader off I run three 71 lb weights which I mount/dismount by hand - not the best thing for an old back. I took the weights off today and put the loader back on.
Set the rack under -

WtRack-1a.JPG

Pick them up -

WtRack-2a.JPG

Roll them away and set them down -

Now I can mount/dismount and move all three around with ease and no wife yapping at me.

Moved the dirt jump again for 2nd time this season. Why? Because I can with the Kubota.

It was finally dry enough to work on my pond project. Been wet all summer and there is no way to do this after snow melt in the spring.

I'm not finished yet, plan to work in phases. Still wet at the bottom. Probably the most dirt I've moved so far. Put 4hrs on the machine today.

What kind of bike you riding over the brother?

I started racing when I was 13 at a local track here in Pearl, MS. Shut down LONG ago.

Started out on a 93 big wheel KX 80, Had some 98 FMF graphics on her to dress her up, actually a really nice looking bike.

Couple years later graduated to a 95 KX125. Ended up being an almost every weekend thing for me and my family for several years.

I actually got to ride with Kevin Windham (pro ama rider at the time) when I was 15 when he decided to show up for a weekend event at our hometown track. An absolutely amazing experience. Eventually hung it up just before I started driving on my own and turning wrenches, mid 2000.

Decided to "relive" my youth again around 2006 or maybe 2007, and found a '03 CR250 on craigslist with a blown cylinder for $800 bucks.

A great buddy of mine owns a small engine repair shop. Got me a rebuild kit and we got her back going again within a couple days. Went and ran the fire out of her back behind his neighborhood (because he literally lived right next door to a daycare) trying to be respectful to others. Boy that bike was something!

Within 10 minutes of doing so, I promptly received a trespassing charge for riding the bike on our levees in Flowood, MS. I think I was 23 or so. Sold the bike 2 weeks after to pay for the charges i'd acquired. Only real time i've ever been in trouble with the law.

Legitimately just trying to do right a be respectful of others. Complete backfire LOL.

Stay safe on them things brother! Still have a left shoulder that acts up every now and then because of them.
