I figured there was a reason for the $ diff. Thank you

any other places that might sell them?
Everything Attachments WAS selling Fred Cain attachments, but I would not venture there now,.... since EA appears to be CLOSED/out of business?
Perhaps search Google for a Fred Cain retailer?

The made in India - 7 shank cultivator, is listed on E-Bay, by Sweet Farm Equipment.
E-Bay number 176047469033
$1095 there.

Oops.....
Be careful....
Sweet also has sold a POS field culitvator made in India!
The Fred Cain unit is likely very good..... The made in India POS is a POS!
Ask me how I know!
I think the Fred Cain is a patented name. The one I have says made in Danville KY. The Sweet website says they sell Fred Cain. Maybe they have other brands too. Or maybe contact the company directly to find out who are distributors.

Found a place called Wengers in PA. They have 7,9, and 11T Fred Cains. I emailed for a shipping quote.

FYI, I have 7 foot 9 shank model that my MX6000 easily pulls. I think that would be perfect for your L4701.

Called over, and they don't make them anymore. Gave me a different place to look other than the one I found in PA but they don't have any.

If you do buy a 9 shank field cultivator, and find that it is too much for your machine, you can just remove 2 of the shanks.

Did you call the manufacturer that I posted?

Yes that is who told me they don’t make it anymore.
That’s too bad. There’s another company named Dirt Dog that makes one very similar. In fact they look identical. Maybe search for that company.

I found 2 places that have some inventory. I’m waiting to get final shipping cost. Neither is close to me. Ones in PA (6 ish hrs) the other is in SC ( 12 hrs).

Mine was shipped to me by FedEx. I had to go to their freight terminal to pick it up and the shipping was actually pretty reasonable. I’m glad you found one. They are really the best implement I found for deep ripping and root removal. I liked mine so much that I sold my moldboard plow after using it. I hope that someone picks up that design and starts manufacturing again. I seriously doubt we can wear ours out for occasional uses and the tips are replaceable with any standard chisel or spade tips.

If you have the time, hog down all the brush, say going E-W, wait 3 warm, sunny days, then hog again, this time going N-S. The idea is to cut up the 'grassy' material so it can decompose faster.

Starting out high for a pass and working your way down helps too for not having such huge pieces of debris.

Have you looked at Good Works Tractor Co.? They're a dealer for Dirt Dog and are in Michigan. They've been very good to me and take customer service to a whole new level.

hmm, I'd call that a cultivator not a plow. To me a plow, has a moldboard that turns over the soil.

I did look a them, it's almost $1K more to go that way. I don't know enough to say if that's justified or not.
