wet brake replacements

Guys (and gals) I have owned my B2410 since new 24 years ago. My brakes have never been adjusted. Like the army of Kubota owners that have come before me.... they have operated the tractor with the break pedal locked down. Aside from killing the hydraulic oil we have prematurely wore the breaks down.
I change my hydraulic oil annually {major over kill).... but now they really need adjusted at minimum.... maybe even the brake packs replaced.
Tell me what you think. Especially interested in what it takes to replace the brake packs. Butch

Travelling at moderate speed…stomping on the brakes….DO they STOP you within a few yards with no loud grinding/squealing…?

You don’t need to do anything but adjust the mechanism for wear.

Do they NOT stop evenly and pull to one side or the other and grab/jerk/release/repeat…?
Time to replace the brakes.

Try adjusting them first!
Wet brakes are very, very tolerant to being left on and to being used a lot.
I honestly can't even remember the last time I had to replace a set because of wear.

Spot on. As usual with Wolfy. (Pardon the terminology. Sorry, Sir).

Tractor brakes should last 50 years. Unless you ride the brakes, or they rust the backing out.

Think about it. The machine travels at less than 5 mph almost all the time. And the brake construction of the pads is nearly the same as street vehicles.

Like my L35, yours seems fairly straight forward on the adjustments, like part 030. Have you a WSM that gives the specified amount of free play?
My linkages were so badly rusted, the hinge points were very stiff and it appeared that the brakes didn't work.

I did the same thing yesterday. Cut about 3 acres with my B 2650 and was wondering why the cruise control wouldn’t work. When I went to put it back on the trailer and set the parking brake I knew why. Hopefully i didn’t mess anything up.

The only ones I have replaced in the last 20 years were from someone telling the head of maintenance at a local city motor pool that you can use ISO46 instead of SUDT in their M series tractor. He was surprised that 60 hours later it only cost about $9000.00 to repair the carnage.
