You think China wonders the same thing?I wonder how all these Ukrainian placed bio-labs are going to shake out?
There's a BIO lab near us. Made everyone in the area pretty nervous since there didn't appear to be much security around the building.I wonder how all these Ukrainian placed bio-labs are going to shake out? Does the number reported seem excessive for such a small country. And now both CDC and WHO are chiming in on the danger.
I wonder if there is a similar lab near me?
I can't imagine what that fellow is paying out for his own personal security. There was word that a $1,000,000.00 bounty on Putin by a Russian …..
Putin, elections? majority chooses?Regardless of whether or not the history of the Eastern Ukraine is accurately portrayed, two wrongs don't make a right. It would seem simpler to me to have the militaries of both Russia and Ukraine withdraw from Donbas and other cities where there is an apparent problem, and have a neutral outside group conduct an election. Let the majority choose. Let anyone not liking the choice leave freely.
That is an age old challenge. Do you engage with unfriendly ( to the USA as well as democracy) and try to get that country to behave in a manner that respects human rights... Or do you toss in the towel and give up. I'm not going to say I have the answer. But in the current case with Russia it is disappointing that Koch industries is putting profit ahead of common decency and the right of Ukraine to control their own affairs. Just makes you question people's morality. It's fine to say don't do business with Russia because they are barbaric. But, that doesn't seem to disqualify China and other countries in the world.
They aren't the only company still in Russia. Many are "scaling back" which isn't the same as leaving. I think we are seeing an attempt to cancel some companies while others are ignored. But in the current case with Russia it is disappointing that Koch industries is putting profit ahead of common decency and the right of Ukraine to control their own affairs. Just makes you question people's morality.
Around Michigan there are quite a few of us that loathe the Kochs. It's all about making money for some companies!
Koch Industries stays in Russia, backs groups opposing U.S. sanctions
As hundreds of major U.S. companies exit Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, Koch Industries is staying put.
The industrial conglomerate — the second-largest privately owned business in America, with $115 billion in annual revenue — is among those defying public pressure and continuing to operate manufacturing plants and sell products across Russia, while remaining mum on that nation's relentless assault on Ukrainian cities.
Wichita, Kansas-based Koch has several business lines in Russia, and is among the nearly 40 companies described as "digging in" by refusing to curb or stop business in that nation, according to a tally compiled by Yale University professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld and his research team.
Koch's Russian subsidiaries include Guardian Industries, an Auburn Hills, Michigan, manufacturer of industrial glass and other products that has two plants in Russia, one near its border with Ukraine, according to Popular Information, a left-leaning newsletter run by Judd Legum. Another Koch subsidiary, Molex, offers electronic components through a network of third-party distributors across Russia, while a third, Koch Engineered Solutions, has a sales office in Moscow.
Meantime, political groups supported by Charles Koch, the right-wing billionaire who is chairman and CEO of Koch Industries, are making a public case against imposing economic sanctions against Russia, according to Popular Information.
Sad that an American company would have such a stance on Russia's barbaric actions.

- 3. Guardian Industries = Glass
- 4. Invista = Dupont spin off (chemicals)

What other country is engaged in a full scale invasion of a sovereign and non-hostile nation? Too bad the USA lost that high ground when they invaded Iraq. It's fine to say don't do business with Russia because they are barbaric. But, that doesn't seem to disqualify China and other countries in the world.
