Has anyone had this problem? This has happened to me twice. I have a B2301 tractor, the transmission has cracked under the seat twice in the same spot. I have been having problems with the front loader not working correctly. It would no go up or down with the controls. I would have to lever in float to make is work, but that made it very jerky. All of the sudden I heard a very loud band and noticed hydraulic fluid pouring from under the seat. This happened last year and the dealer said they had not seen that before and said that I must a broke it. Well I had it repaired and it broke again today in the say place a before. Has anyone heard of this happening, and what is causing this?

I can’t help with the tractor, but since it sounds possibly hydraulic related, is the anything added to the system like 3rd function, rear remotes, backhoe? Pics of the damage may help too.

No, this was busted by using the Kubota brush hog.

Years ago there were some Kubota models that were vulnerable to transmission box breakage from too much load or stress on the 3 point toplink. Kubota sold optional toplink reinforcing kits that added a bracket to strengthen the top of the transmission case. I put one on my L4610 since we used a logging winch, thankfully never had any such issue.

That was twenty years ago and I haven't heard much about those reinforcing kits more recently. Don't know if they are stiil offered or what.

So, is there anything about your brush cutter or how you use it that puts excessive loads on the toplink?

Have you increased the hydraulic pressure?

I remember a thread somewhere that a similar incident happened. Operator was using a mower on the 3 point and had it raised while moving the tractor, hit a severe bump and the weight hanging on the back jerked and broke the housing under the seat.

I'll see if I can find it.

Cylinder pressure over load.
Not normally caused by the hydraulic system, but it can if there is an issue with the pressure relief of the system.
Considering your having issues with other hydraulic systems I wouldn't rule it out.

The more likely cause of a failure like this, is three point up and a big mower bouncing on the three point over loads the cylinder.

Exactly what I was thinking. Does the B2301 not have a safety relief in the cylinder hold circuit to prevent that?

You know I don't think it does, normally it's just the larger tractors that have that.
I'll look into it.

My guess is the feedback rod not adjusted properly. Causing the 3 point to continuously deadhead. This is why his loader is not functioning..

I suspect the same and I think we have not been given the full picture.

But that deadhead condition should unload through the main system pressure relief which per the WSM is in the loader valve. That pressure should not be high enough to fracture the lift cylinder.

Just for clarity,

Originally you were using the loader when it cracked the first time? Was there anything on the 3 point at that time?

Then the second time you had the "Bush Hog" on the back when it happened? Where you moving?

Just trying to get a clearer picture of the event cycle.
