Got a problem here wife approved PO for BX1880 with FEL and MMM until she looked at it and sat in seat. this was back in May says too small.

BX1880 no longer in the mix :(
BX2380 was next she wanted , then found out no Backhoe could be added.
BX23S early June dealer had 2 ,already sold when we went back to look again.
B2301 I looked at in July I made the mistake saying would run stump grinder and more ground clearance if going in the woods .. she wants that one instead.
2 weeks ago I stopped by dealer late in afternoon BX23S back in stock great :), stopped by with wife last Sunday afternoon .. its sold gone :( ... and.... she looked at B2301 sat in seat .. great I made the mistake saying B2601 is just a little more money with more HP for Stump grinder and I believe backhoe can be added later. She is hell bent we are buying a backhoe even though I don't need it today not sure if would ever use.

So I really only need a BX1880 which is overkill for mowing lawn but giving up done she wins will get a quote.

The cub cadet is running fine even though she was mad I put a $100.00 worth of blades and belts into it a week ago.. again she said stop putting money in the cub :(

Anybody quoted a B2601 Turf tires with FEL, MMM ,and Backhoe ?

So, you’re getting a bigger tractor because that’s what your wife wants? And you have a tractor and wife problem? I think you may have hit the lottery.

Well, ya know... For just a liiiittle bit more, you could step up to the 2650 and... lol.

I say wait her out. You'll find yourself in an M series by spring.

Well, maybe not a M-series, but I would hold out for a B2650 with a cab and snowblower for those cold snowy winter days.

+1

If you think you might want a snowblower some day, then you want a cab.

This guy lives in Northern Michigan of course they want a B2650 with cab and mid mount mower and front snowblower. His wife can get out there and clear the snow no problem! :D

PS come on down and I'll let you guys sit in the cab of my B2650 it is all set up for mowing and the snowblower is sitting in the corner of the barn.

First of all, there's no such thing as overkill in my book.

And as you've already been informed, you DON'T have a wife problem. Go with the flow there. I remember shopping for our first Kubota and Wifey was convinced we should get one with a loader. So we did - a B7500 back in '02. Ten years later, she approved the L3200 to get us a few more horses to drive a wider RFM. I made the cab for it to keep warm in the winter, and figured that would be the last tractor I'd ever buy.

The pollen and dust seemed bad this year and Wifey got tired of me hacking / coughing each time I mowed. Maybe I complained about the heat. Yesterday she said, "Maybe we should get you a tractor with A/C".

Now follow along with me on this. She won't have to drag me kicking and screaming to go look at tractors. I'd heartily recommend you would also show how much you love your wife by allowing her to play a part in your life:D

Please no more talk of B2650 Cab / snowblower that would be way overkill for our 2-75 ft driveways. Cab height would be an issue with storage.
Cab and mowing AC is a valid point put overkill.
I would be forced to put up pole barn she keeps asking for in vacant lot next door.
My plan is not to use in winter we have heated garage BX1880 would fit in corner fine.

The worse part of the buying is she really wants me buying new I've been holding out looking for used. I'm really close to giving in and buying what ever she wants.

See, you just aren't thinking this through all the way. You won't just have two 75 foot driveways, you'll have 3 driveways. Gotta get the tractor to the pole barn, remember?

So there you go: you definitely need a blower and cab. :D

nope still 2 driveways snowblower is stored in shed where wife wants pole barn. I've dodged the pole barn for 25+ years maybe even close to 30 years.

and if pole barn went up less grass here to mow.

ah I see 72" mower for B2650 that's overkill of overkill.

OP,

I feel your pain. I went through the same thing with my lovely bride. I wanted a nice little BX to mow our 6-3/4 acres. Then she started talking backhoes, so I decided the B2650 would work for me. Then we got to driveway maintenance with a box blade, so I figured an L2501 would be perfect.

I was shaking my head (And smiling!) when we left the dealer after having bought an L3901. Her thinking was that we were only going to do this once, so get the biggest tractor we could afford……

This just got here a couple of weeks ago……:D

Guess I'm an outsider in this conversation. Maybe Michigander is just being entertaining with a bit of humor, but I don't think he has a problem with a tractor but much more of a problem with his wife.

If she controls things as he indicates, is compulsive and indecisive as described, the tractor buying process is just an indicator of what's ahead.

I'd hate to come on the internet and describe my wife as he has, and think it was entertaining or funny. As he did state, he has "wife trouble".
