Tooth Bars??

They screwed up on mine. The tabs are short of reaching the side of bucket by 3/4".

3/4" of an inch on each side??
I think you could fix that by welding more material on the outside of the tabs, or having a fabricator move the whole tab out a little bit.

I'm going to throw some washers under it for now, when I get a chance I'm going to cut it off and re weld it.

oh 3/8 isnt bad at all on either side. Ive had 3 of these so far, none have fit perfectly to the sides of the bucket. Not really possible because of the weldments. The most recent one is a little tighter, but the last two were prob between 1/4 and 3/8, just tighten up the bolts.

Is that at the base of the tabs? I've heard of some coming in short but they do flex a bit from what I've heard.

But, I gave them the correct measurement. They were off by 3/4"
No big deal but I won't buy another one from them.

Cut a length of 2x4 to fit width wise in the bucket just above the tooth bar flanges. Then install the tooth bar. The flanges will bend out towards the sidewall of the bucket and the 2x4 will keep the sidewalls from deforming. Easy-peasy

FINALLY showed up, I can finally put this bucket to work. 6 weeks, 3 days. Usually their stuff is right at the 4 week mark. Always worth the wait from bxpanded.

3/4" IS a big deal !! You'd expect for the money they charge(with 100% up front) they'd be able to afford to buy a tape measure !!
I bet that if your employer 'short changed' you $1.29 of EVERY $100 you made, THAT would be a big deal.
If they can't get that right, what else are they screwing up ?? Wrong grade of steel,loose bearings, mashing metric nuts on imperial bolts ??

Maybe someone made a mistake and shipped you someone else’s order. Did you contact them to discuss this with them? Or did you immediately run to the internet to bash them and see how many others would join in?

my employer short changes me all the time, some battles are worth fighting others arent. Almost half my earnings are gone for various reasons before it even gets to me anyhow... heck... most of the time I'm at work, I'm not even getting paid!

I've only had 3 bxpanded toothbars so im not an expert but... they typically will not fit exactly up to the bucket sides, there is some slop because of the front weldments protruding into the bucket, so they can't make them fit precisely. I mean it's a bucket and a tooth bar doesn't need to be precise...

This has 3/16th on either side of the bar to the bucket sides, ~1/16 to the weldments at the lip. The B2601 was prob a quarter inch on either side. The two I had on the BX were similar (two separate buckets).

Don’t waste your time with him. He is set on what he thinks. My EA had a bit of wiggle room too, it was nice to get it in bucket easily and let the bolts pull it over tight.

Interesting that the 'Handbook' says 3-8 thou bigger. I've got a few .25000 reamer(yeah 3 zeros after the 25..)s here from a custom job 2 decades ago.They were kinda pricey back then, can't give them away( 2 thumbers have NO idea what they are....).
One potential problem for mass produced items is temperature. Hot steel tends to shrink when it gets back to room temp, so things might not line up if drilled hot, assembled cold.

All of the above are .25 no matter how many zeros you put at the end. The zero is just a place holder with no numerical value.
Are you sure you’re not talking about .00025? That would be a mathematical difference.

Now that I understand! Makes total sense. The original number of .25 and .2500 are the same number.
