I am considering doing this to a problematic tire on my Yamaha Rhino.

But I was wondering if I do it, can that tire ever be replaced if it wears out?

I have also read about getting a "flat spot" if it sits too long. Is this true?

I have no idea about the foam but would suggest you try a product like FLATOUT or similar. They make some kind that is better for higher speed tires.

I bet it would be way stiffer than the other tires & ride like a rock.

Agree with this.

I had an ongoing issue on with a couple tires on an older ATV. Plugged multiple holes, used bead sealer, but kept leaking down.

Turned out to be a whole bunch of micro holes. Not sure how that happens

A variety of YouTube product comparisons and other research led me to Flatout off-road version, which solved my problem.

I have put a tube in the other tire and it has held, but I was considering foaming them all just to prevent future flats.

After some poking around, it seems like there are no good DIY ways to do it.

I actually have a tube sitting on the shelf, but I was kicking around the idea to foam it, just to make it "totally leak proof forever".

I had some of that "Kubota brand" leak stopper left over when I did my front tires and I put it in one tire......But I'll be damned, I forgot which one I did it too. :D

LOL, the person that puts the most miles on it, is 6 years old and probably wouldn't care, since he has not even figured out that there is a "High and Low "gear yet.

Once you foam the tire you have to cut the tire off the wheel in the future when you need to change tires.

You will enjoy many hours trying to cut foam away from the wheels.

I wouldn't foam my aluminum wheels.

Doesn't foam add a substantial weight to the wheel?

I have a 10x16.5 skid steer tire filled and it weighs a ton... compared to the others...

different grades of foam??

personally I'd tube it.
I'm not a fan of slime or any other foaming Goo .... to me, It's a half azz remedy.

IF your stuck on the side of the road and you are a helpless old lady.... well yeah maybe.

but eventually the tire has to come off the rim and the tire guy will hate you. and probably charge double. some places won't touch it.

foam? I'm sure it's a good solution for maybe a skid steer when you want to get your moneys worth out of bald tires..... but after they are gone... It's probably best to just buy new rims AND tires. foam is a biotch to remove.

another aspect of foam is the ride quality. It has no 'give' or very little.
It's gonna be a Flintsones mobile.....

The other thread about using foam for setting fence posts had me thinking- how would the fence post foam do as tire foam?

I know regular spray foam is a no-go, breaks down too easily.
