I am doing some soul searching here. My BX25 is ok and never really has blown me away with its abilities. It seems I find myself too often wanting more tractor. I don't need anything huge, and no longer need a backhoe. I need something that will run a 5' brush hog, 5' flail mower, 5' box blade/grading scraper as well as a 5'+ MMM. I also want a loader that will lift more as well.

Would a B2601 be a good fit for this?

I never owned a B2601 maybe someone on here that owns one can give you some 1st. hand experience with one. Looking at the data sheet on them I think you'd be pushing it to it's limits with some of the attachments you're looking at. Let's see what the other members think.

Take a look at the B2650, will so much better with your attachments & will be a big difference in loader lift.

MMM, flail, brush hog..... You have some serious mowing to do! Do you have many hills? I would not go from BX to B2601. Just not enough of a jump to me. B2650 at a minimum if you dont have a bunch of tight spots. I dont think the L has a MMM, so that might be a no go.

Not enough HP for either a 5' rotary cutter or a 5' flail mower in anything but IDEAL conditions.

I have a B2650 and use it for everything you listed except a flail mower and I'm certain it would handle that with no issues. Pretty healthy lifting capacity too. Easily lifts my 6x8ft, 350lb (center of gravity ~ 4 ft out) sled deck overhead to load and unload in my truck. Also, lifted (not as easily) 850lb pallets of pergo off my equipment trailer. Just make sure you have a good counterweight and stay on level ground in 4wd with heavy/awkward loads.

No regrets on the purchase at all.

I posted a thread a while back comparing the small Kubotas.

http://www.orangetractortalks.com/f...55&arubalp=b1ae49d1-8a7e-43e7-b02b-ba05658657

The B2601 has nearly double the 3PH lift, about 30% more FEL lift, and generally seems about 30% more tractor all round. The B2650 seems another 20% or so depending on the measure.

I think you get a lot of jump from BX to B01, and a lot of features like independent wheel brakes, 3 speed transmission, position control 3PH. Equally, many people say stepping up one model won't be that noticeable, you've got to go two models (so to the 2650).

The B2601 is getting the BX80 style loader connections sometime middle of the upcoming year. I believe that's worth waiting for (I am, and it'll be a long wait for me down south in the antipodes).

I traded in my BX2350 for a B2601. The 3pt increased lift capacity is immediately noticeable. I am clearing a 3 1/2 acre that we had slash cut and all big wood sold off. The bx was nice for tight spots but the 3pt increased lift is huge for me.

I'm looking at upgrading from my BX23 to either the B2601 or B2650 next year. Mowing responsibilities are a little lighter for it though. I really just want the FEL, backhoe, and a 60" MMM. I guess a rotary cutter could be nice, but right at the moment I have no use for it on this particular tractor (I have other options the one place where I need to use one).

I'm leaning toward the B2601 for my purposes. I don't want to get too big as I haul it a fair amount and I'd like to be able to get into some semi tight areas.
