Can you explain this GreensvilleJay ?
My girlfriend goes to Costco shopping.
She's leaving there's a mass of people headed in. Outside two Canadian tour buses...eh.
Is Costco in Canada??? Seems odd the tour would stop there. LL Bean yes. But Costco....hmmm...
They heard about the Hot Dogs.

when granddaughter goes, she brings me back 2 dog and drinks...
neighbour gives me 2 chickens as 'barter'. 1 chicken gives meals for a week. more when soup is made.

Also remember that PA has a 57.6 cent per gallon gas tax. Our roads and bridges don't look like they spend all that on infrastructure.

The rotisserie chickens at our local Costco are $4.99. But I assume you’re talking Canadian dollars? Interesting that the hot dog deals are the same price in both currencies.

We are right at the $3 mark on average for gas. I had to look it up, so take it for what you will. I only use E0 gasoline.
Diesel is around the $3.15 range. Give or take where the station is and brand.
Typically speaking, falling gas/ diesel prices are not a good thing. Prices do come down some in the fall and early winter, but the overall trend is a little concerning.

Regular gas here today is $4.299 and Diesel is $4.799. It is a little cheaper at the ARCO station in the city though. One thing keeping our prices so high is this state has a carbon tax added which is about $.60 to $1.00 per gallon, depending on certain conditions that no one has specified. That remains a mystery.

Gasoline below $2.50/gallon for a couple of weeks now. Diesel below $3.20/gallon.

Lots of prices coming down. Worldwide inflation down to about 2.5% in U.S.for a few months which is back to pre-pandemic normal.

No bird flu issues so egg prices are better since layer populations are recovering.

Still seeing price gouging.

I Just paid 3.05 for Diesel and my wife filled up for 2.39 in her SUV at HEB where we live. Drill baby drill. It`s a beautiful thing. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

The dollar is weak. It's not so much gouging as it is that it takes more dollars to buy the same amount of goods compared to 2018. Coupled with years of record inflation, even a 0% inflation would not moderate prices much.
Not sure where you got the 2.5% for global inflation. Forbes has it at >5% as of October 2024.
Eggs are still $5 at the local farm. Same as the last 3 years here.

I didn't say global inflation is down to 2.5%. It's a Worldwide inflation problem. I said U.S. inflation was 2.5%. Looks like it's 2.6% last month up from 2.4% in September. For quite some time the U.S. has had one of the best/lowest post-pandemic inflation rates in the world.

Egg prices are about $3.37 per dozen in October. They're still high priced due to bird flu but they're lower than they had been. Looks like they may be headed up again due to bird flu.

Guess there is some punctuation missing in:
Worldwide inflation down to about 2.5% in U.S.for a few months
I read that as worldwide (global) inflation.
