Take a guess what the problem was

Spent the last 3 weeks trying different solutions to getting this tanaka leaf blower working, finally figured it out.

Whats your guess at the problem?

Ran great when parked, couple weeks later no start, no fire.

-Gss good, changed carbs to a new one, still nothing.

-Checked spark, good spark. Put in new plug anyway, good spark still no start or fire.

-sprayed with ether, still no start not even a little cough.

-did compression check, throttle wide open 130psi, still no start

-changed fuel lines and tank filter, no difference.

-air filter was dirty but removed during the troubleshooting so not a factor.

Fixed the problem in about 60 seconds, started right up.

What do you think was the problem

Assuming it had fuel(and correct kind) Maybe forgetting a switch? My guess would be fuel shut off (if it has one)or the run/start/choke?

If it didn't fire on ether must have been spark. I'm guessing kill switch.

It was getting fuel. And i even sprayed with ether and it didnt fire on that

Compression, spark, fuel, all OK. How about no air?

Mine was a clogged spark arrestor screen, but it would monentarily run and then die.

The spark screen was clean but the pipe which is about an inch long was completely plugged. The mud was far enough back from the exhast opening that it was hidden.
I almost threw this thing away to get it off my bench.

They did that to a saw of mine. The P.O. had modded the muffler, and had not put a screen in the outlet. They got in and set up shop. Plugged the ENTIRE exhaust port. Solid.

The good tjhing was that the piston happened to be in the up position, so they didn't get into the cylinder. Took a while to get it cleaned up.

I own 1 leaf blower, 2 weed wackers, 2 chain saws, 2 rescue saws, all with similar 2 stroke engines and tiny exhaust ports and have never run into this problem before.
Pretty sure i read somewhere that mud daubers plugged up a pitot tube on a commercial airplane a long time ago and it crashed. So im all for banning mud daubers now.
