Anyone installed auto steering wheel on kubota? I would like the foam grip and more offset. Help?

Auto wheel and a Hurst Tee handle shifter and you'll be good to go...

I was serious.
I know you are. I was just injecting some humor. Everyone says I'm too serious.

I don't believe you can because an automotive wheel mounts differently than the Kubota wheel does but then again, anything is possible with some ingenuity.

You might be able to use the center of a Kubota steering wheel and then bolt the automotive steering wheel onto that

Or have a machine shop make a center that fits the tractor and automotive wheel.

What do you mean about the offset? Maybe an upholstery shop could make you a wrap for yours to give you more of the auto style?

Offset is the 'dish' a wheel has, IOW the dimension from the rim to the hub when measured by laying a flat across the rim and determining the distance to the hub face. Kubota wheels tend to have little offset and are always hard rimmed which don't really bother me as I always add a 'suicide knob' anyway. I have a couple where when you use it, the gal inside the knob face undresses.

Some Kubotas have a deeper offset than others. You might look up a TF1860 steering wheel to see if that fits your desires. The splines to mount the wheel may be different in number and/or taper, so getting one to fit will test your creative abilities!

I know the offset part, guess what I was getting to was with the auto wheel, most auto wheels don’t have that much offset either.

Phillip, is the tractor a cab or open station too. Don’t think an auto wheel would hold up very well exposed to the elements if it’s open station.

Cab, I just wanted the wheel to be a little closer, I am 6’4” and the wheel is in my knees.

I don't know about other Kubota model steering wheels but the one on my BX1860 is secured exactly like the one on my old Ford Falcon. I don't know if the spline count is the same but it seems to me that it should be fairly standard. Maybe one of the old hot rod small diameter steering wheels would work?

I think I hear a custom chain link steering wheel being made.

The steering wheel is no problem. Finding an adaptor with kubota spline, can’t order till I find one that fits.

Seems like UTVs and golf carts use similar splined mounts. Maybe removing the wheel and measuring the splines is a good idea. Golf cart steering wheels should be outdoor friendly.

Have you considered cutting the splined end off steering shaft and welding in a length of rod to lengthen the whole shaft. That would move your steering wheel as close as you'd like without having to match any splines or get a new wheel.

And I think the Hurst shifter knob would go good on the throttle bar, and of course some fuzzy dice. This reminds me I still have an old Mack truck bulldog hood ornament I need to mount up front.
