I did th paper route thing, mowing lawns and had a few customers that wanted gardens tilled. I used to push the tiller down the back lane, start with the furthest and work my way back home. Till one garden and end up with 10. Would be dark by the time i got home. Too bad that only lasted a couple weeks.

Video games- pong. Get it just right and it would play itself. So you know it got boring real fast. There is like 3 kids in town that rake lawns and mow grass.

I don't have a set up like eipo but did use the new boom pole to lift one end so I didn't have to bend as much and kept the saw out of the dirt. The three logs were a little more than a half cord so only 9 1/2 more to go!

I used to lift logs with the forks and then cut off either end keeping the log balanced on the forks. Problem with that was 2 fold...

I had to lift rounds off the ground.... And the "pile" was to spread out due to not being able to cut in the same spot every time.

I wont lie, building the deck and cutting table was fairly expensive using all pressure treated wood. I want it to last. But the time and energy it saves was worth the investment.

I just cut and split another cord or so today. Grapple a log onto the Sawbuck, and hold one in the Grapple, cut them down, go get two more, etc. I cut as close to the wood shed as I can, then back the log splitter between the shed and the pile, split and push the pieces in the shed. Not a nice table, but I only need to pick up once by hand. I've already cut more than I need for next year, and it doesn't even look like I've touched the log pile.

And the back! Was always my problem with blocking.

A gentleman i knew had a bucking saw with about a 40" bar. Big horsepower jonsereds saw. Used to pretty much ride it aross the pile. Cut a lot of wood very quickly.
There used to be a paper mill not far from here, there were lots of pulpwood cutters here.

Yep, huge back saver. All my cutting and splitting work occurs at waste height.

If this rain doesn't stop I am going to have to use some of my wood for a raft.

If I could just get my Bud to haul the logs from the farm to the house in his dump truck, I could cut split and stack a lot more. But cuttin, loading, unloading lifting to split tossin on a pile loadin in the trailer haul to the barn unload and stack,,, whewwwwww,,,, cutting 3 steps out of that would make it easyer on this old man,,,lol

I don't think I would have ordered the load of logs if I didn't have a Grapple. With it I can get the logs right next to the wood shed to cut and split. I only have to bend down to pick up the rounds once, when I put them on the splitter, which I position inside the wood shed as close as I can get it to the finished pile, and just push them off against the pile. My backs not as bad as my knee, I think too many years spiked into a power pole have gotten my knee a little angry at me. It is hard on the back sawing at ground level, so the Sawbuck and grapple help out the production line
