Saw a video where individual set up a spot sprayer using a fuel jug and 12 volt pump.....On back of their zero turn

Wondered if anyone has thought or have mounted a sprayer on there RFM ?... IK what is this guy smoking lol.

I like thinking out side the box

Can it be done? Sure! Go for it, take and post pictures and let us know how the experiment goes.
Should it be done? IDK

The main issue I see is that the RFM sticks out behind the tractor and the added weight of a sprayer, depending on the size, may cause fatigue / stress issues over time. Not sure if a 5-gal can would make much difference though, but just something to consider. And it may bounce around a lot which could be hard on the sprayer.

While we're just spit-balling...I think it'd be easier to fab one up for the front or in the FEL.
HEY!!!...get a snow blower chute and hook up the sprayer nozzle to it. Then you could rotate and angle up and down using the 3rd function. Wouldn't even have to get off the tractor.

Get a cheap 3ph carryall. Put a pallet on the carryall and the sprayer on the pallet. I did this with a small tractor and a 20 gallon sprayer. It worked great.

I was thinking Onekawboy wanted to be using the RFM and then stop and spray as needed.
If not, then what jyoutz is suggesting or something similar is the way to go.

Yes setting / mounting on the mower to have while mowing … stop n spray or hit trouble areas while passing through,

the fel set up i liked too.

i built an 7’ aerator out of an JD400 sq beam once i used it i was thinking a 12 vlt spreader would be ideal for fertilizer or seed lol
More work sometimes = quicker turn around times lol

That's one of the ways mine gets used. The spray rig is made from parts of a failed trailer-mounted sprayer, a 15 gallon soap tank and msc. scraps / odds and ends. For the RFM the bar that would be connected to the 3 point arms slides in behind part of the RFM structure. There's a hole in the RFM for an eye bolt that slpis onto each end of the bar and I reach under the deck and snug a washer and nut. Wiring is extended to the 12V outlet in the cab and has a switch inline to control it. This is my second best favorite mount for it. IMG_20240410_165451218_HDR.jpg IMG_20240410_165444351_HDR.jpg

I said second favorite is on the RFM because it solved one of the issues with my least favorite. Because I use it on a cabbed tractor it eliminates sitting in drifting overspray.

Now for the other two mounting methods I've used. The least favorite happens to be the first I used. That would be the one shown on the Ford. The reasons it is my least favorite are having to look back way too much. Although there haven't been problems with clogged nozzles it is something I cannot constantly want to monitor. The liquid level needs watched to avoid "spraying nothing" when it runs out. The other main reason is that even with a very minimal breeze I get misted on the open station. There is always air moving here. A breeze that is light enough to allow spraying is often strong enough to bring a mist onto me. Really limits when I can spray.

My most recent and favorite mounting for the sprayer is on the forks. A couple of eye bolts and a ratchet strap mount it firmly. It can be set on the ground for loading, picked to any height and when cleanup time comes the rinse water can be dumped. Overspray isn't an issue with the cab and the whole rig can be washed after the work is done.

EDIT TO ADD: The picture with the buckets - the kitty litter bucket has a black line for the three quart mark. That's what it needed for the 15 gallon tank.

let me be the 13th man on this one and say you may have to take care.

Normally spraying freshly cut lawns is frowned upon. Why? cut grass is open / wounded and under some stress. If added stresses like dry ground, high heat, intense sun and depending on what chem's are being used (and what concentrations) lawn care people would have a little shutter of anxiety as how the lawn will handle all that at one time. 1 or 2 stresses probably never notice but piled on what will the lawn do?

Lots of people spray freshly cut lawns. Some like my try to avoid. Some baby their lawns and others couldn't care so depending on what side of the fence you be on......
