Welcome and thanks for posting. You should fill out your profile when you get a chance

I hear you on the ROPS and the door. You have already done it and it's probably fine, but cutting or drilling ROPS compromises its integrity according to the factory & those " in the know" i.e. not me :).

I am in a very hilly area in PA (not sure about your part of iowa) so I do the dance every time...

Just be careful. Theres a reason why the diff lock pedal is so small and out of the way. I like what you did with the Rops! It looks stock!

I purchased a "Bully" aftermarket step and mounted it on the LS subframe on my bx23S. Works great? I do not use my BX to mow so NOT an issue.

Agree, providing the welding was as good as factory welds.

A higher ROPS would work better to prevent a tip over from turning into a roll over, but how much difference would 6 inches make? Don't know.

Myself, I would not sweat it.

Be very careful pulling a trailer from the hitch instead of drawbar. That’s how wheelies happen.

can step on it and not slide off.
I see it now.

It looked like the square tubing was sitting on the floor mat.

Obviously if it works, the hole in the floorboard must be square and the tubing must slide through the hole as you apply down pressure...

1"x"2" tube is what the step is welded to, bolts are hide under mat. makes it strong to stand on.

What I was referring to was the differential lock device you fabricated, not the step. Step looked good.

The piece of square tubing looked to me like it would disable the diff lock pedal.

So, what does that piece of square tubing over the diff lock pedal actually do? I am probably missing something simple...thought I saw the answer, but now not sure.
