Finally read the owner's manual. The hubs should be checked periodically and if loose, the clamp bolt is to be torqued to 100 foot pounds. No mention in the manual about wobble. Hubs should be tight on the axle.

Thanks guys for the reply. Looks like I got some work to do to tighten things up.
Had a lot of play between axels & hubs on my 1980 B7100 when I first bought it. Search Piker & you can see photos & a description of the fix. Small bit of play due to some axel wear but still going strong.

Jeep brake caliper slides/mounts are notorious for wear, the pads wear indentions that do not allow the pad to release.

The same type of wear will take place on the axle. The fix is to surface weld the axle and fill in the wear and then to resurface the axle.

The hub can also be rebuilt with weld or replaced......either way a hub with some wobble is not a death sentence.
