Sharpen Rotary Mower Blades?

Always wondered if the 'group' that doesn't sharpen their mower blades ever tried to cut facial hair with a dull straight razor ?

Thank goodness I don’t have sweet gum saplings growing out of my face, the stems of which I prefer to shatter rather than cut cleanly as I don’t care to encourage their regrowth.

I do sharpen my finish mower blades, but I don’t mow small trees with my finish mower.

Question: Does anyone buy new rotary mower blades and then 'dull' them before installing (so they will 'shred' brush better).

I've never....and do mean NEVER seen saplings 'grow back' from what I've cut with a rotary mower. Not from the 'cut' portion.

Occasionally, you'll see new 'suckers' pop up from the 'root source' but not the stalk/base itself and a blade sharpened to factory profile takes down the brush decidedly better than a dull one.

If you want to splinter what you are trying to 'mow' then I submit a 'mulcher' would be a better implement.

But as discussed in previous posts.....just do what servers you best.
