I have a kubota B26 and wondering if I could use screw in studs for plowing in winter? Lot of people in my area use these in ATVs with great results. Anybody try them in a tractor?

I had them in the front and rear tires of my BX25 and they were great when the gravel driveway iced up. I removed them once I had a lot of asphalt put down. I also ran them on a set of Jeep TJ General tires. The ones I had were from a Canadian company and they're were about $1 each. I bought the tool from them to install the studs using a cordless drill. They were a pain to remove but easy to install.

Do you have ag tires, industrial tires or turf tires? They are good for the first two. I'd be leery about putting them in turfs though -- not nearly as much tread depth to screw into. Besides, turf tires work well as-is for snow-clearing. Much better grip on ice and packed snow than the deep lug tires.
I've got carbide tipped screw ins on the rear of the 4WD FEL tractor that I use with a rear scrape blade. Ag tires. No fender clearance for chains.
They are absolutely wonderful on ice. Which we get too much of each winter.
I have no pavement, so they never come out. Leave 'em in all summer.
I try not to claw over any nasty ledge or stone during the summer, at a buck each, I want them to stay in.
But heck, I leave the chains on two other tractors (2WD turf tires) all summer as well ;-)

This is the brand that I purchased. I bought a set for the Jeep and a set for the BX. For some reason I thought that they were a Canadian company but it looks like they're in Oregon.

How many do you run per lug? I have the R4 tires. How long should I get? Probably keep them closer to outside of tire, plenty of rubber there
I just posted my install. I used 90 studs in my fronts, only 1 per lug.
