I have a RTV 1140 and it seems like it's stuck in gear. The rear wheels won't turn, the engine runs, but the machine won't move. Front wheels are free. Any ideas?

Does the gear selector move ? Will the engine rev up when you step on the throttle ?

The RTV1140 has a hydraulic pressure release activated when you step on the brake.
Its on the very back and right side of the transmission under the hydraulic filter.
Could be the thing is out of adjustment or stuck.

Also check all linkages and cables (including up front thru to the back) for rust and crud making it difficult To move. Make sure things are lubricated.

There are adjustment processes in the service manual.

If you put it in 4 wheel drive will it move ? Something may have broken in the rear end, but if it is in 4x4 the front end will move the machine.

have an assistant watch the linkage on top of the transmission while you shift the gear selector between all ranges. Is everything moving? If so, have your assistant watch the rear axles while you start the engine and try to drive. If the rear axles turn and the wheels don't, the hub(s) splines are gone which wouldn't suprise me any.

No, the front end won't go into gear. It does roll free
