My dad spoke of all the MMs with a smile.
I won't detract from Alderman's thread after this. Alderman, my apologies but I like MM's too much and I literally grew up with this one.
Many of the '50's and older have a hand clutch and no power steering, of course.
As a young kid I remember trying to steer, clutch, sometimes apply a wheel brake to help steer, etc....didn't have enough friggin' hands and feet!!
But at 6 or 7 I could back it and manure spreader down the 100' barn floor with the cows in (we didn't have barn cleaner). Our other 60' barn was actually a little tighter....
I'll post a picture with my Dad on it. He's 81, and he and my grandfather bought it used in the late-50's, when he himself was a teenager. He's driven it 60 years... I've only driven it 50....
It's still at his house until spring...he's really on my case to get it out of there.
I'm a Board member at
https://www.classiccarmuseum.org/ . Next year our themed exhibit is tractors. While I hope to get it in there just for my Dad, realistically it is not of the caliber/condition we strive for those exhibits. I'll just bring it home, which isn't a bad thing.
