I have a gear L2501 with just over 100 hours on it. Has anyone had the right lifting rod on the three point back off while brush hogging? This started happening about 20 hours ago and causes the front of the right side of the deck to drop below the left and drag on the ground. I have to stop periodically to tighten the rod. From what I can tell the nut at the top does nothing to prevent this when it's tight as the rod backs "down" and away from the nut. Any ideas if you've had this issue would be appreciated.

You need to lock the nut to the center part of the lifting rod. Turn the nut in one direction while turning the center in the other direction. Like jamming two nuts together to keep them tight.
X2 on what Sam said. I keep a chainsaw wrench in the tractor tool box for this, just slip the end over the little handles on the adjuster to help to turn it
Thanks and to Fordtech86 also. I'll give this a try tomorrow. I like the chainsaw wrench suggestion. Those little pins are painful when trying to get any torque on the rod.

One of the first things I did when I got my Kubota was get a short piece of pipe sized to fit over those pins to use as a wrench to get some torque on those sidelink pins. Got a similar one slightly larger diameter to fit the slightly larger pins on the top link. Kept both in the toolbox on the tractor along with an adjustable wrench to fit the lock nuts.
Next step was hydraulic top link and side link. Highly recommend if you do much grading type work. Maybe not worth the cost if you don’t.

If you always keep the same setting and jam nuts don't hold consider blue Loctite.
I had the same problem with the right and top links and side to side turnbuckles. All jam nuts have a lock washer below them now. Have had no issues since then.
I've gotten them to stay tight the last two times I cut but will look for a lock washer the next time I'm at the dealer. Thanks for the info.

I kept both channel locks (for the round right side link gizmo) and adjustable wrench (for the lock nut) to lock the two together. Gotta be reasonably tight to keep them from coming apart.
