Rear Wiper electrical lead for sprayer use

Hello! I am a new member. I have followed many threads on here and found the information very helpful. I have a 2020 L3560HSTC LE and added many components from information here.

I am seeking opinions on the use of the rear wiper electrical line for a 40 gal sprayer/boom rig. I would like to add a 3pt carry-all and use for spraying weeds on large food plots. I like the idea of not having a long lead from another point and inline switch that would be cumbersome to use. The ability to use the wiper switch to turn the sprayer on and off seems to me as a clean solution.

So your sprayer has an electric pump rather than a PTO driven pump. You'll need to look at the amperage rating on the rear wiper circuit and compare it to the amperage draw of the sprayer pump. Both of those pieces of information should be easy to obtain.

The dataplate on the sprayer pump should show the current draw.

The wiper switch will be switching the ground side of the wiring, not the positive side. Keep that in mind when wiring.

This is the wiper wiring schematic for my M6060 so take that for what it's worth. It shows a 15A circuit, and when the switch is turned ON there's 12V provided to a relay in the wiper motor via the Light Green & White (Lg/W) wire. When the relay trips it connects the + side of the motor to the Blue (L) wire which is the 15A source, and the - side has a direct path to ground with the Light Green & Black (Lg/B) open circuited by the relay. Well, that's how it looks to me. A multi-meter is your friend in these situations.

I've used the 4 channel RF realy modules, about $20 cdn for years.
Fed power from bullet connectors on my BX23S by 3PH, controls LED headlights AND garage door opener. Still have 2 spare relays for future uses.
It'd just be 'wrong' to hack into the rear wiper of your cab.
Velcro the keyfob somewhere ? I hang mine on the cruise control rod.Easy enough to get to.

I was thinking that I could use a proper connector that is on the wiper motor and control it with the wiper switch. My front wiper does not have a delay and is either on or off. I assume the rear wiper would be the same.

Oh good luck! I messed around with that idea for days trying to use the switch for a yellow beacon. Got it to work sometimes but not the way I wanted. Ended up wiring wiper plug back on and tied beacon into front work lights. Lots of forum members tried to help and I’m not real good at DC wiring.

can it be done, sure, but you'd have to unplug/plug in the connector every time you want to use the sprayer.
now that could be a real pain, feeding the sprayer connector through the cab, up to the WW motor location.
also no mention yet of the AMPS the sprayer needs. it could exceed the contact rating of the WW switch ! Bet that switch aint cheap to replace. YIKES, just checked...

For $5 CDN I can turn the sprayer pump on/off AND no ugly modifications to the $2800 wiring harness in the cab.

But, in the end, your tractor, your decision.

Those little fimco pumps dont take much amperage. The factory harness that comes with them has an inline switch, and it isnt much. Probably half as sturdy as that ws switch in your Kubota. I wouldnt hesitate to do as you are thinking, hook it to the factory ws wiring.

i know the pump I have draw a solid 8 amps when running.

I talked to the service department at my dealer. In my LE the is a power lead under the seat that work when the engine is running. Under the rear window there is a grommet that a wire (with an inline switch) can be run thru. They said the wiper line should handle it but they cannot get a matching plug for the wiper power line. And it would require a wiper switch
