To add info....
A time or several, I used the ...arch... part of my 3pt post hole digger with a top link and a short chain and hook to lift the end of logs for skidding.. I skidded logs about 30" (75cm) or so diameter at times.. The trail was far from flat, but not rough..

ALWAYS pulling with the drawbar..

Anything that helps keep dirt out of the bark and such helps reduce chainsaw ware and expense..

hey Tim....def saves chain and therfore time and money. Thank for sharing this with me and those that never would have though of that idea.

Very good point!
thanks for info..especially regarding paying attention to the center line of the axle..that is something I did not k now. ALl of thse logs are pines..various diamaters..but mostly in the 16-24 inch range. I plan to cut small sections of 8-10 feet depending on diam. I will def keep it slow so there are no surprises.
