I have a lot of brush, logs, small trees to chip and was considering picking up a Woodland Mills 8” PTO chipper. I’d prefer to go the purchase route, as opposed to a rental. Is WM a good brand? Are there others I should consider. This would be for my L6060.

Many have Woodland chippers, and they have very positive opinions.

I have Woodland Miils 6" chipper.
Very well built and chews up everything i put in it.
Before buying i was concerned about it's ability to process branches with a lot of green on them (fresh cedar) but it hasn't been a problem.
They have a Pro version that throws the chipped material further and a few other little upgrades. I decided not to get the extra moving parts and i have not regretted it for how i use it.

Woodland Mills has a good reputation.
I had a Wallenstein and it was excellent but sold it as I found chipping to be very very slow.
For me burning is much more efficient but as we get feet of snow and 5 months below freezing every year so burning big piles works well for us. easier, cheaper and quicker. YMMV.

I have a Woodland Mills WC68 I share with my brother (we split the cost). Between the two of us, it probably has 150 hours on it. Neither of us can burn (gov’t doesn’t like it) so that’s not an option for us. Been quite pleased with the chipper.
Chute clogs if you run gummy stuff like wet pine at too fast a feed rate. Almost embarrassing to admit how long it took me to figure out that’s likely why it has variable feed rate. No clogging issues since.
Have yet to need to sharpen or reverse the reversible blades. We are pretty careful not to run dirty, sandy, or muddy brush through it. Not like we wash it, but the pine that fell into the pond and jammed up about 4’ into the muddy bottom, that muddy mess went into a pile in a hole back in the woods.
I’m sure there are others that are similar or better quality. That’s just my experience with Woodland Mills.

My WC68 Woodland Mills chipper on my much lower power B2650, 18HP rear PTO, has done a great job for me. Adjustable speed in-feed is my friend. The 26HP engine can handle WAY more chipping/time than I can get material into it. Even with help.
Over a few seasons the infeed roller teeth dull under usual heavy abuse they're designed for. I was already noticing it harder and harder to infeed until it grips and feeds. A few brain cells communicated, it seems, as I noticed how dull and rounded the teeth centers were compared to the edges. With everything shut down, prodded the feed teeth edges with my trusted sharpness gauge, my right index finger, and it all hit me. Find the grinder. Now.
My small angle grinder fit fine to position a clean pass and not wreck the angles too much.
Gauge indicated dangerous-for-woody-branches sharp.
And the damn thing just SUCKED those friggin branches in there again, like new.
To the immense relief of my sore old frame!

I have a Wallenstein that I bought used. With green leafy material it’s best to run it at 540 PTO or faster.
Mine didn’t come with a PTO shaft, and I actually bought a woodland mills PTO shaft for it with a shear pin, so I keep a handful of extra shear pins with it.
I also made skids out of 4x4’s bolted to the bottom to raise it up off the ground some.

I will add mine is a manual feed model and I haven’t had any trouble with it pulling material into it. To me it wasn’t worth the extra maintenance and cost of a hydraulic feed model for my use. Again I found mine used and got a good deal because it didn’t come with the PTO shaft.
I've purchased a stump grinder direct from WM and have been to their warehouse. They are good to deal with and stock machines and parts. You can speak to a human on the phone and they return emails. I would buy from them again.
I checked out their chippers when I visited them and thought they looked a lot better than the 8" chinesium one I bought years before. WM Chipper blades are easily accessible via a flip top chipper shroud. My only comment would be to check out and compare prices on consumables like chipper blades.

I don’t know about the other manufacturers but I know the WM chipper and stump grinder I have came with very clear and thorough instructions on how to measure, cut if necessary, and hook up the PTO shaft. There are numerous YouTube videos on how to measure and shorten PTO shafts as well. It’s not very difficult.
just bought a wc68 this year and i've had the chance to use it just a couple times on my l3010. i opted for the woodland mills model because it has 4 teeth instead of the 2 teeth that seem to be standard on other brands this size. and, with the exception of one hydraulic fitting that needed tightened and me being an idiot and bending part of the pto shaft it's been great. chews up pretty much whatever will fit in the feed hole.
besides that, shipping was good, packaging was solid, and it went together in an afternoon. 100% recommend.

I’d look into a hiring someone with a skid steer with a mulcher. Just to get a price for it and they possibly could get it all done in a day or two.
That looks doable with a bushhog. Pending nothing is “hidden” stumps, car parts etc. See my post above.
