Spent a good chunk of the day prepping "OJ" (Kubota BX24) for the winter months. Gave everything a good power wash. All fluids checked / topped up. Discovered one bucket pin to arm just about out of its bore, haven lost its keeper pin / bolt at some point. That taken care of, located all the grease fittings from top to bottom gave each of those a shot or two. Since I don't care to drive these days, &, being the weekend not usually able to have a volunteer driver come from several agencies. During the week can be bad enough. Anyways, I had been thinking of giving the headlight housings a good polishing for some time, since todays was so nice, warm set about to do just that. Not having a store-bought kit handy, set about experimenting. I found a box of Calgon Bath beads, a staple of Bonnies (rip). More of a powder really with just enough grit like a mild rubbing compound. Anyways, I spent perhaps 10 min scrubbing with the mixture each light. Rinsed & dried both, then, followed up with Finish Jet-Dry. I'm really happy with the results, wish I had snapped a before shot. Sadly, now that it's dark unable to get the after. We'll see how they look come tomorrow hopefully able to get a shot for the Orange Community. Anyways, Others may have an interest when in a pinch. The Calgon also seemed to work well on the plastic hood removing ground in stains. I worked the dash lense as well, cleaned-up nicely using both products.

Back in the young years. Many a good old fashion movies and heartfelt acting. The backbone of families ( grandparents ) who went through hard times (post WWI / WWII Depressions) yet we're still as humble as can be. When America thrived and family values were strong.
To mention a few.
I come from those times. When both Fred & Barney lived next-door in Bedrock. Talkies were new, though we couldn't afford the extra funds for such extravagance.
Went back this morning reworked the headlights once again using the home remedy of Calgon & a course sponge (I would say little less than the coarseness of a Scotch Brite pad). I also tried a few drops of lemon & lime juice during the scrubbing faze. Once all rinsed, dried & cleaned followed-up with a little wax on hand. Not the store-bought kit, however, seems to have done the trick for the moment using supplies around the cabin. I believe the right lense may have an opening somewhere along its edge, as, from what I was able to see has a lite coating of moisture on the inside. Perhaps one day be able to locate a pair of new lenses. Believe for the moment should get me through the winter.

I had a cousin who lived in Florida and spent summers in Maine. She'd always comment on how hard the northerners had it. Always preparing for the next winter as we had just ended one. There was never the preparation living down south she said. We'd just go to PubliX or Costco and buy gas way cheaper then up north.(kinda off topic but not really)
And yes I went after my tractor maintenance for winter over the last couple weeks. All the fluids and filters.
And a very warm day this week greased it completely.
As far as greasing I figured out the 'entire' tractor fully greased takes 1/4 cup of grease. That leaves 3 full cups that I pump out onto the ground and 3 full cups that I wipe off my hands while greasing and using half a roll of paper towels.
I'm ready for winter.
