I am considering buying the CountryLine PHD (model 24045500) sold at TSC. Does anyone know if my B7100HST will handle this? With this SCUT is there a limit on the size of the auger I should use? Thanks.

As long as you dig slow I think you will have plenty of power. I just wonder if a 7100 has enough lift to get the auger off the ground. Those tractors sit so low to the ground.
I bought one of the 12" augers from TSC. I can't just hit the float. The control has to be slowly feathered down to control how fast it digs. I haven't dug but a few holes with it so far but it's bad.

I'm very interested in this info as well. I need to drill several holes and my hands are no longer able to do it the old way as when I was a kid.
I've got a standard size auger {cat 1} for the back of my B6100 and I've handeled it no problem. I think its an older Woods model, not really sure my dad gave it to me. I ran 6, 9 and 12 inch bits on mine.
Eric, Well if your B6100 handled it there should be no reason a B7100 shouldnt handle it being as they are essentially the same tractor. thanks for the information, nothing beats knowledge!!

I will mention is was a HUGE p.i.a when I got the 12 inch bit hung up on what I think was either a rock or China. The bit was all the way in the gound as I was trying to set a 6x6 timber. The tractor hit whatever it was in the gound and bogged out the tractor and killed the engine. I could not lift it out the ground no unscrew it loose. Had to take a pipe wrench to the PTO shaft and after almost 2 hours of turning by hand got it out.
Digging up an old post here. I have a mid 90's B7100hst and want to set some fence posts. TSC has them in stock along with different diameter augers. I'd like to set 4x4 posts, roughly 2' deep. I ask the forum for advice. Thank you in advance!
