I dont know about the.460 or .500 way to much for this sissy old man,, I ll stick with the 29 thank you very much. A very long time ago I came across a guy that had a 6 inch 29, his home had been flooded out and the gun storage in the basement was full of water and mud. It was like almost a month before the ins company would let him get back in. You can guess what things looked like. Anyway I picked it up for a song and took it to a local shop, the barrel looked like a hunk of old water pipe, there was no saving it. He had a 3 inch, someone had changed out for a 6 incher,, COOL screw that bad girl in. I carried it in a shoulder rig for many years while mags were a fright out of it, muzzle blast would bring tears to your eyes and blind you after dark, specials were nice to shoot. Thats one I should have never let slip away,,,ahhh well such is life

For a while S&W made a Mountain Revolver. It was a lightened frame with a four inch barrel. I was shooting a 7 1/2" Ruger .44 Mag and 6" S&W 629 Classic, so I figured it would be just right for me. I had to turn in my "man card" on that one before long and found a new home for it.

I have a 10 5/8" model 29 S&W, it's a silliwette gun for shooting steel a long way away.

I got a 4" 29-2, mighty fine wheel gun. The long barrel 50 cals aren't bad at all to shoot, I know a snub nose would be a wrist breaker but I still want one . Large cal pistols always put a smile on my face, makes me feel alive. .22's just don't do it for me, kind of boring to me unless I'm watching a kid shoot it.

Years ago a buddy acquired a .450 pistol if I remember right. Darn shells looked like they were used to drop an elephant Any way, he asked if I wanted to try it. So being young and foolish, I figured why not!!!! After about 4 shots on the revolver, I handed it back and said I was done and handed in my man card as well

I thought .450 was brutal until I fired a revolver chambered for .45-70. Ouch.

When I was younger, I loved shooting the .44 Mag, that was before the big boomers came out, if they had I would have tried it, but doubt I would have liked them. Now that age and arthritis has snuck up on me, I stick with 9mm, .40 and .45. I've already give two of my .44s away to my son, have three left and they will go to the family at some point.

Wife and I took the conceal carry class today. It was very informative The instructor ran a good class, and very safe on the range. No mishaps, or any horror stories to share from unsafe behavior with a gun

We had a last minute entry into the class. Usually the dead line is a couple days before. But they made an exception in this case.

Here's the back story as to why she joined the class at the last minute. We had an inmate escape from the county jail yesterday. A registered and convicted sex offender went through a hole in the fence in the exercise yard This offender then stole a truck at the Uhaul and mechanic shop. And for some moronic reason, he then tried to take the truck over the railroad tracks to cut cross lots. This happens to have a 4 foot ditch on either side.

So you can figure out how that worked for him. Then the inmate ran into the road and tried to car jack this sweet little old lady. Well this sweet little old lady hit him with her car when he tried to force her door open Putting him in the hospital as well

So this sweet little old lady was pretty shook up and decides to join our class. She said she felt terrible about putting him in the hospital. But felt better after a long discussion in the class. Especially when my wife told her she would have put her car in reverse and gone for another round


This happened to be an eye opener for us as work as well, and gonna be touched on in the morning safety meeting on Monday. The second fence for the jail on the back of their property is the border for where our property begins. Our property starts 700 feet from the exercise yard where the inmate escaped. That could have easily turned ugly for someone at the shop or one of our trucks that was stolen.

Cars fine. I checked it out during a break. And didn't seen anything but some minor scuffed paint that could be buffed out Guys gonna lose some street cred back in the slammer when they find out he got run over by an old lady in a bright yellow bug

I'm sure his story is now that his downfall was due to a 6'6" 300 pound trucker in a rock hauler.

My most liked handgun is a Springfield Armory 9 mm Mode 2 with 2 19 round mags. I pocket carry a remington 380.

Arkansas is pretty stringent to get a conceal carry permit. But once you recieve it, the majority of states recognize and except it. You gotta do a 5 hour class which consists of safe handling/ shooting, a basic going over of gun safety, as well as governing laws. Home protection, and self protection plans also. You get finger printed. Gotta fill out an application online. Pay for the permit, and send the certificate of completion with the confirmation number from the payment, as well as the finger print card.They then run you through the three major data bases one of which is the FBI data base. Then if everything goes good, you'll have your permit sometime in the next 4 months.

To renew, you have to do the 5 hour class, fill the form out again, as well as payment confirmation, and list you CC permit number on the completion certificate. Then send it in again

Of German descent, Sig P320c is about 2/3 of the 1911 weight 17 rounds vs 8 and 9 is cheaper to shoot. I don't like the glock, do they shot hell yes they do, I just dont like the grip.

what the trigger like on the sig? I shot a dep's sigs 226, the first pull is god awful, for a police style pistol - the trigger is horrible! SURE - the second trigger pull was ok, as was the third.

If'n you ever get a chance to shoot the Ruger sr9, sr40 series, or the walther PPQ series guns - you'll fall in love with them - and the grips are the best I have held too. My walther PPQ's have the "sand paper" grip overlay on them, I swear - it is like a magnet in your hand, perfect fit and grip!

The 320 does not have a decocker though it is striker fired.
I like the trigger better than I did on the S&W and the Biretta, which have gone on to new homes
. The take up is a bit long and when new was a bit on the gritty side not bad just seemed a bit gritty.
It's not a clean as the 1911 but then shes been worked over a bit.
The reset is pretty short and once you get the hang of where the reset point is your good to go,,
Im not that good nor do I ever think I could get as good as some of even the low class comp shooters.
So it goes all the way forward and then back ,thats how I do it,,lol,,
The trigger breaks like a glass rod on this one, I have read some are a little sloppy but this one is nice.
Mag well has a little bit of a flare to it so that nice dove tail sights. I have a med frame but you can get the large or small frame to switch out, and thats done in about 1 min. Comes with a Sig holster 2 mags a box and some other stuff. Mags are not chep I picked up 2 15 rounders at a show like 30 bucks a piece. However supposedly there are some comming in from Korea that about about half the price and work just the same.

I have a Ruger .357 Security Six I sometimes carry on the property. You can tell my concern, the first three rounds are snake shot. Also have a S&W 9 mm stainless semi (Model 29, I believe.) I like it real well but it can't reload snake shot.

The blow-by on the .357 is fantastic at night, it flashes out the sides about 2-3 feet with the muzzle blast about the same. Both of them are too big for concealed carry.

It will be interesting if ammo will become more available again under Trump. Obama's EPA recently closed the last lead factory in this country. More back-door gun-ban crud.

I shoot USPSA matches and the only pistol I like is the Glock 19. It's perfect.

Although I did put a Zev Fulcrum trigger and striker in it.
