Another tractor/trailer shot coming home this afternoon after finishing up at my friend's place. I think there's too much weight on the tongue and if I didn't have the RCR1884 on the back I would have moved the MX rearward a bit.
Thanks for the link to the video. It was very informative, and the testing clearly showed that a weight distribution hitch would make a significant improvement. Air bags might be nice to have as well but they don't seem to be as helpful when it comes to towing heavy loads. I'll have to do some research.Looking at your setup, heavy duty brushguard on front of the truck, yet the trailer tongue weight has your truck down on the overloads I bet. You might consider air bagging the rear axle or weight distribution hitch. Or you could detach the loader for weight savings. My guess is your total pull package is approx 11K in the pic.
Nope, I think you just need to add Miracle Grow to your tractor.I suppose I could use a little smaller trailer….Naw
The one ton is probably overkill too!I suppose I could use a little smaller trailer….Naw

I ordered a Curt 15k weight distribution hitch with sway control this morning along with a 2-1/2" replacement shank and an extra set of hookup brackets for the PJ dump trailer. It's highly unlikely that everything will simply bolt up but I have the tools and ability to modify any parts that aren't plug and play. Thanks very much for the suggestions. You might consider air bagging the rear axle or weight distribution hitch.
You are welcome sir. I went with a Curt class V hitch and air bagged rear for my Cummins Ram 3500 SRW. Got to concerned the cheap factory bumper beam hitch was junk.I ordered a Curt 15k weight distribution hitch with sway control this morning along with a 2-1/2" replacement shank and an extra set of hookup brackets for the PJ dump trailer. I have a Titan Class V receiver bolted to the frame, and a Ranch Hand rear bumper that I could use for towing but don't.You are welcome sir. I went with a Curt class V hitch and air bagged rear for my Cummins Ram 3500 SRW. Got to concerned the cheap factory bumper beam hitch was junk.
The Curt 15k weight distribution hitch with sway control arrived at UPS this morning along with a 2-1/2" replacement shank. The hitch kit box must be one of the heaviest I've ever had to pick up!You are welcome sir. I went with a Curt class V hitch and air bagged rear for my Cummins Ram 3500 SRW. Post pics when completed and hooked up, would love to see and hear what difference it makes. The Curt 15k weight distribution hitch with sway control arrived at UPS this morning along with a 2-1/2" replacement shank. The hitch kit box must be one of the heaviest I've ever had to pick up!It's hot right now but I'll try to get it set up over the long weekend. I made the mistake of ordering a pipe handle for the hook up brackets since I didn't see one in the photos or description but turns out there's one in the box so either I'll keep the one I ordered for the other trailer or return it.
I'm scheduled to have hand surgery this morning so it might be a few days or possibly a few weeks before I'm allowed to turn wrenches, but I'll be sure to post an update once the hitch is installed and I have the MX loaded up.Post pics when completed and hooked up, would love to see and hear what difference it makes.![]()
Good luck on your surgeryI'm scheduled to have hand surgery this morning so it might be a few days or possibly a few weeks before I'm allowed to turn wrenches, but I'll be sure to post an update once the hitch is installed and I have the MX loaded up.
Thanks, but it's not a big deal. I'll need to get my other hand repaired in a few months from now. The worst thing is the inconvenience of not being able to use a hand to full effect for a few weeks after the surgery. Fortunately my job mostly involves moving a mouse around, pressing keys on a keyboard and attending online meetings. I do need to handload and shoot for some projects but I should be able to manage.Good luck on your surgery
Not far. Only about 25 miles, mostly interstate so we did get it rolling at a pretty good clip.Nice, how far was your tow to the dealer?
