Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Really bad picture, but I caught the NeoWise comet after sunset with a 16 second exposure with an old 5 MP Kodak digital camera.
If we get another clear evening, I'll try to get one with my 8" Meade LX200 telescope and a cell phone adapter.
FYI, Saturn and Jupiter are close in the sky and are amazing to see at 200X then the seeing is good.

21 The Hard Way

I got a real treat this morning. I got to see the FedEx 777 land from inside the fence.

It is really hard to explain the size of this plane. Only having 2 engines makes it look like a smaller plane. This thing is HUGE. When the 777 lands at the MHTR, UPS (right next to FedEx on the ramp) has to stop operations because the 777 takes up 3/4 of the ramp.

I wonder if Fred's college professor would believe he is buying brand new jumbo jets now to satisfy his company needs.

I am restoring 56 acres to Oak Savanna/native prairie in central Wisconsin and I am starting to get results.
This is a great Spangled Fritillary on a native Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) plant.

It has been a few months back when NC was still in our COVID Phase 1 lockdown with the stay at home orders, my wife and I got to talking that it was really strange to not go much of anywhere and be “stuck” at home. Not long into that conversation we started thinking about people who were forced out of work and stuck at home with kids in an apartment or house on a tiny lot. Some politician deemed my job “essential”, our kid is 24 and out on his own with his own essential job, and this is a little bit of a view of the home where we were ordered to stay. We had, and have, a LOT to thank God for and NOTHING to complain about.

I’m not a photographer at all. Just snapshots from an old iPhone.
