Well....Its time for me to finally finish getting all the useful attachments for my BX2380. I was at the kubota dealer inquiring about a rear blade and pallet forks. The BX can only lift like 600lbs maybe more with some hydraulic chicanery. So does the BX need heavy duty forks? I would assume not.

Is there a good set of light duty forks that can handle 600-800lbs of logs (or pallets)? Maybe save some $$$ and not have stupid heavy forks that take away from my lifting capacity? Most normal forks seem like overkill for the BX (again which including the forks can only lift 6- 800lbs.

I don't think you can find any pallet forks that are much lighter than the Land Pride ones. The PFL2042 is 301 lbs according to the specs on the Land Pride site.

There are companies that make forks that attach to the bucket although you'd still have the bucket on which is part of the total weight. In my experience, it's very convenient having the bucket separate from my pallet forks.

I have the SSQA version of 900# HLA pallet forks on my BX23S. Have beat them up a lot in 4 years. Don't know what they weigh...but don't need them to lift 5,000 #!

OK... from the website...190#,frame and forks.

You are wrong Jim!
Everything Attachments 42" Ultra Light pallet forks weigh only 185 lbs. and will lift 1250 lbs.!
A HUGE difference in weight/lift capability, as compared to the Land Pride!

Particularly for a small machine, you want the absolutely lightest dead weight forks that you can buy!Everything Attachments makes TOP QUALITY stuff !!!

lightest LP PFL12... is 220#.
HLA is less,
yitamotor is less
EA is less...

any will work, only need 700# capacity,so no actual need for limit of 1000, 1250,2000#

The only thing that I don't care for is that there is no guard to keep something from rolling back onto you except the forks themselves.

Good day.

I think artillian makes a very good product and have great customer service IME. I would consider them light duty relative to the LP forks on my Mx…artillian very nice product but not lightest or cheapest, so maybe not fit your criteria? But I think they are worth a couple clicks to check for yourself. i originally got mine when I had a BX but they still are fine for my current B.

If I were buying again I’d want to consider whether I wanted a receiver in the frame, a step on the side of the frame, and a guard on the back. I’ve dented one hood for lack of a guard (I was trying to be cheap and ultimately I was wrong 😉)

I use forks more than my bucket so I would not cheap out again (get a guard as others mentioned). They are versatile and you will find many uses for them so I’d get decent ones if you plan to use much. I only have experience with LP and artillian and for my B I would buy artillian again.

I hope this helps. 🥃

They are 115 lbs lighter. Is that "much" or "HUGE" considering their guard is so low?

That's up to everyone to figure out.

I've never needed a guard ( aka raised back)...Anything 'questionable' was strapped down, like 45g barrels of water.

On a SMALL tractor, the dead weight of forks is particularly significant.
Ie: The more the forks weigh,......the LESS useful load the machine can lift !

That's obvious.

The same rules apply to larger tractors. If it's too much, it's too much.

Everything is a tradeoff, but how many people lift pallets that are "just" 115 lbs too heavy?

Just as a "reference",

my Grapple is HLA, and I am very happy with it.

In case the OP is considering their brand.

But I do like the "raised guard" that helps prevent "back rolling" on my forks. It not only prevents 'back rolling" but is also offers a convenient place to hook a chain or strap to.

Do you have anything in mind that you need the forks for, or is this just something you think may come in handy at some point? You might be better off doing what you can with the bucket and some straps.

The spec appears to give the lift limit at 509# and 423# for the pin-on and QA respectively at around 20" in front of the pins. Deducting the weight of the lightest forks and considering how much capacity is lost when the actual center of the load is moved another foot or two - it doesn't leave much capacity.

IMHO......EVERY pound could make the lift, or not lift, difference!
